very close the lake
convenient shop is just opposite to it
staffs with excellent service
the building just a little bit old
disappointed with the outdoor hot spring since the view is not very great, much better it is on the roof
Room is big & spacious. Friendly staff, there were Chinese speaking stuff so that's very helpful.
Food places walkable distance. Shops there usually opens at 11am and closes by 6/7. We had trouble looking for dining place after 8. Found a good place nonetheless.

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Pleasant stay
We booked 2 Japanese style rooms at Toya Kanko. One of the rooms had an obvious cigarette smoke smell but after a few hours of airing it by opening the windows, it was more acceptable. The views of the lake were amazing. Room was spacious for 2 people and futon was comfortable. Wifi kept dropping off every now and then. The onsen was really nice, though a bit dated. Staff spoke English and Mandarin. Overall, it was a pleasant stay for the price range. Would probably stay here again if we're back in Lake Toya.
Great Lake View from room, Convenient Store right opposite hotel, walking distance to Toya Bus Terminal.

Staffs speak little english..
I saw on the hotel site that the room I booked can accommodate up to 5 futons, which gives me the impression that it's ok if I have the 3rd person in the room. The 3rd person who is my son, decided to follow us last minute , after I have booked all hotel rooms in Hokkaido, (which explains why I cancelled some rooms with Expedia earlier due to the hotels' policies not able to accommodate 3rd person in a double room). That was after I requested for extra bed and was turned down. Thi hotel, having staffs who speak little english, didn't explain to me much after I told him about the room stated can have 5 futons, so I didn't bother to include the 3rd person.. And the front desk staff just replied "ok, ok, ok...", and the next day when I booked out, I was charged another JPY8,300+ for the 3rd person, which is SGD104. And the hotel did not bother to add a 3rd bath towel, face towel, etc for the room. I find it's very unjustified on my part..
The room was traditional Japanese style with beautiful Lake Toya and mountains background view. There were fireworks at 8.45 p.m. every night when we visited. Onsen was a bit old but o.k. Breakfast was alright with variety of choices.
