We picked the hotel because it was good price within our budget. When we arrived it was a ghost place with the construction workers. We looked around for 20minutes before finding “the lobby” which consist of one small counter in the staircase. The hostess was really nice and friendly. The room was spacious enough and nicely designed. However, the thermostat wasn’t working and the AC was blasting (blocked on 69 degrees). It wasn’t really cleaned under the trash there was a lot of sand, and dust. We asked the lady at the “front desk” to have someone looked after those details. We came back later that night and nothing happened… very unfortunate. The second day, no cleaning happened nor refinished in paper and so on. When we checked out we asked the “front desk” to leave our bag for few hours and the “gentleman” refuses as for excuse that the hotel was fully booked that same day and there was no luggage room to store it. Cherry on the cake.. That was very bad customer experience. Not a recommended hotel!

While the staff is great and helpful and super friendly. The facility is not at its best. I understand that that the hotel is under renovation, however we have had problems with the room keys everyday and it I believe the place is under staffed at times

The room was dirty. The walls, rug and some furniture were all heavily stained. The toilet/shower area was very dirty and the bathroom sink was visibly attempted to be cleaned, but with what must have been dirty cleaning tools. Additionally, the fridge kept things barely lower than room temperature, the coffee machine was broken, and the door - despite being locked - jangled far too much for comfort. Since I only was staying one night and it would have been too expensive to switch hotels last minute, I stuck it out, but will not be returning. Despite these conditions, the front desk staff was very nice.

A couple of girlfriends and I stayed at the Wayfinder for a long girls weekend in Newport. The hotel was unfortunately under construction so we did not get to see the hotel at its full potential but it was still a great stay. The hotel manager was fantastic and very helpful with everything we needed. The hotel isn’t necessarily walkable to downtown Newport but it was a quick 5 minute drive. My friends and I all agreed we would stay at the Wayfinder again but once the remodel is complete.

Hotel is very clean and staff very friendly. Don't get discouraged by the outside appearance, as it's under renovation. Rooms are modern and clean. The area is accesible to the wharf and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again.

Don’t be discouraged, the outside looks to be under construction and the parking lot had some serious pot holes coming in but the room was really clean and welcoming. Dan met me at the door to check me in and was super pleasant. No restaurant right now but the left a small bag with fruit, muffin and OJ at my door. I was able to snack and have coffee in my room which was perfect. I would totally stay again.

Excellent! They are recovering from a fire so operations are slightly altered. So many thoughtful touches such as complimentary coffee in the pool room as well as the breakfast drop in the morning.

The property was only partially opened after suffering a fire a couple of years ago. They continued rebuilding and opened a section of the hotel that was not affected by the fire. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and professional. The facility was clean and fresh. The rooms were clean and good size. Amenities were a little lacking because of the renovations; but the hotel supplied fruit, juice and muffins to each room in the morning. Will definately stay again

Loved our stay here! I came with two girlfriends for the Newport St Patrick’s Day parade. The construction crew working on one half of the building were very kind and helped direct me to the main entrance. The room was extremely clean, spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful. Love the Shore Soap Co. products, and the framed Newport themed post cards. You can really tell they are putting a lot of care into this place as it gets restored. Was very sad to hear that there had been a fire here a while back, but they are truly doing their best and it was the perfect place for us to stay! Thank you!

Although we understand that the hotel is still under renovation due to a fire, it would have been good to have at least a place in the hotel to sit and have a hot breakfast. Two apples, two small muffins, and two small orange juices in a brown bag placed on the floor at the foot of your door is not it.

No Microwave in room, they were doing renovations. Sink didnt drain. It is walkable to shops and restraunts.

Literally had to let shower run for 15 minutes before it was warm enough to get in. Serious waste of water!

Wish it was noted more during booking that that half the hotel suffered from a fire earlier in the year so it being under construction was kind of off putting since we weren’t aware of that prior to arrival. As far as staff they were okay…the place seems to be run by what seem like teenagers like the person who checked us in. When we were going to check out that gentleman had his head down on the desk with his hoodie up on his phone. There were several others who may have been staff just hanging around the check in area on there phones. They seemed fine it was just a little unsettling as to who was running the place. Wouldn’t stay again but hoping they get up and running again…

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We do have listed both on our site as well as Expedia that the property is under construction and we are open with limited services. We would love for you to stay with us again once we fully reopen next year.

The room was clean & adorable. Freshly painted and had new linens & furniture. Some areas of the hotel were under renovations & there was limited access to dining, but we were provided a free brown bag breakfast which worked fine. Close to downtown.

Didn’t know the hotel was under construction so the bar and restaurant was not available. Other than that, the staff were very nice and Accommodating. The hotel was very quiet and location was very good.

They’re renovating the property, so was not easy to find check in. Staff are friendly and accommodating, which more than makes up for it.

The main lobby under construction. Had to enter thru side door near pool. Checkin was in a hallway by a person with a laptop. Would have been nice to know about all this before making reservation.

Photos are false advertising. Property pictured is not what’s offered while they rebuild from fire (hotel- please remove photos of facilities not available for use). The email notice was just as vague. Very misleading. Room was cute, clean, comfortable but was expecting a lot more. Was going to work remotely this week from the lobby/restaurant and it doesn’t exist. Great place for now if you’re looking for somewhere to crash- but not a place to chill or vacation. Will be great when fully rebuilt and open.

Hotel is under construction
Let me start by saying the staff here was REALLY great and helped us out including giving us a partial refund after the issues we had. I am mainly writing this review because I do not think Hotels.com listing is correct and I think it will be misleading to future guests which isn't fair to either party. 90% of the photos that you see for this listing are part of the main building (restaurant and lobby) which are under construction due to a fire that happened in 2022. They will not be available until summer 2024. It seems like they reopened the other part of the hotel recently and are still working out some kinks. The doors in our hotel room did not work for example, so they moved us to another room. When the hotel is fully open, I do think it will be nice and people will enjoy it. BUT you need to go in with different expectations i.e. the entire hotel is under construction.
