Cali Cottages is exactly what the name insinuates- a cottage. We chose to stay here based on the proximity to Rick’s Cafe. Our family of 5 fit nicely in the 2 bedroom. Please understand, this is a cottage. You will not have the amenities found at large resorts. There are just a few small cottages off a dirt road. There is an authentic breakfast/lunch/dinner restaurant right across the street after you walk down the dirt road (just a minute walking distance). We felt safe at all times. Clifford, the property manager, is a wonderful guy who greeted us immediately. I enjoyed sitting out one night talking with him. He helped arrange transportation with Trevor (Trevor ended up driving us everywhere we went and was reliable, honest and fair). Seven Mile Beach is a short drive away as is Rick’s Cafe (highly recommend). The roads are narrow and there aren’t sidewalks, so I wouldn’t suggest walking (except across the street to eat). If you are looking for an authentic Jamaican experience, Cali Cottages would be an excellent choice.
I stayed in Apricot Rose for 8 nights, it was comfortable and offered good amenities for a great stay - AC, good WI-FI, smart TV, hot water (in a drought), coffee maker, and mini fridge that kept beverages cold! The property manger George and groundskeeper Earl were very accommodating and made me feel at home. The property is well taken care of and quiet/private as it’s sits back from the road. I will definitely be returning, soon come.
The Cali Cottage hosts were outstanding. We felt safe and right at home and well taken care of. If you are looking for reasonable price, close to the beach and basic amenities…this is your place! Thank you all!
