Rooms are small but that was expected. Hotel was very good overall, it was very clean, the breakfast buffet was good and the public baths were very modern and uncrowded. The hotel took great pride and there was free broth in the evenings and we had a special sushi roll one night for a national celebration. Centrally located within easy walking distance from the station and the old town, as it is actually on the Nakasendo trail. A good base for the Magome to Tsumago walk.

This area of Japan is unique.. a small charming town, not far from the Nagasendo trail which is spectacular.. restaurants were great.in town, easy to walk all over and explore.

The staff and setting was exceptional at this absolute gem of an option in Kyoto . A short walk to a great train stop , Gion, and everything the city is known for . Every detail , from the rooftop bar , to rooms , to amentirs, onsens snd staff is exquisite. Phenomenal value for this quality . All the other guests raved also .

We had a really good stay here. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area. The room was cozy, the public baths were great, the staff were super friendly, breakfast was awesome and to top it all off the staff spoke English very well which made checking a breeze.
