The staff was pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed our stay but property was not maintained well as the rooms were not dusted properly
Beautiful period property close to all major shopping and tourist places. It has a character which other high end hotels lack and I would definitely stay here again.
The Metropole in Mysore was a delight. A colonial style large residential space from the early 20th Century, it retains a certain old world charm in its architecture, layout, decor, furniture and the way the space is curated. Good service and excellent location. We were very happy. I would stay here again
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city! Loved the rooms and the balcony. Also the breakfast and dinner are very good in the hotel. Love that they give us unlimited RO water. Only issue is the WiFi. It is very spotty and very difficult to get any work done.
Lovely old building, not too modern but has loads of character. Great friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and great evening meals. Would happily stay there again.
This was an absolutely splendid hotel - the property itself was lovely and old world- well kept, clean, inviting.
The food (breakfast) was of a high standard. Twice we had cocktails and they weee splendid (ask for a cosmopolitan - you won’t be disappointed)
But the highlight was the staff. Amongst the best, mist efficient, helpful and lovely staff I have had the pleasure of being with for some time. From the cleaners, to the door men, to the front desk staff - just excellent.
I highly recommend this very reasonably priced and excellent hotel
Excellent and caring concern for elderly guests. A peaceful haven in a busy noisy city.
Rooms were comfortable with good facilities.
We particularly liked our balcony. A wide range of excellent food was available. We enjoyed sitting by the swimming pool as well as using the gym and spa facilities.
Had it's own Indian heritage character which. we enjoyed

Location is good. Property is okay . Bathroom is not that clean … swimming pool is very small and also not very clean . Food was good . Staffs were very helpful and gentle.
I stayed at the Royal Orchid Metropole for one Saturday night and was very impressed.
An authentic Indian hotel and a nice change from the chains I usually stay in for work.
Perfectly located within walking distance of the market and Mysore Palace.
Service was great, with a warm welcome. The buffet lunch was good, breakfast was ok with a great omelette.
I was upgraded to a ground floor luxury room which was lovely - the bed was very comfy, the bathroom good (remember to turn the hot water on!) and lovely to have a balcony.
I found the street noise ok, but I travel with silicon ear plugs.
Overall highly recommended for a stay in Mysore, I would love to return.

Sadly the property is falling apart. We had to walk through a hallway where the broken floor was covered with a heavy (Jute?) rug, so it was covered up and an unsteady person might fall. Room for two had only one chair to sit on. Nice courtyard, but overall over-priced. Receptionist made the currency choice on my charge without checking with me and I barely glanced. She said she could not re-do. Manager standing nearby said nothing. No apology from either. Breakfast staff, excellent. Other staff well-intentioned, but could use more training. Also noisy at night. Other hotels offer much better value in Mysuru.
We spent a delightful 4 nights at the Royal Orchid Metropole. It has a good location, just 5 or 10 minutes from the Palace by auto rickshaw. It is a genuine heritage property, and the furniture and fittings are OLD, they are certainly not 'tired' or 'faded'. Don't stay here if you expect hot water at the turn of a tap (it takes 15 mins to heat up). We found ourselves upgraded to a maharajah suite which was huge, with an enormous L-shaped balcony and an extra-large bed made from two large singles put together. Despite its size it was spotlessly clean. The staff team are welcoming, smiling and eager to please. We had two minor niggles - we did not have a working fridge until the third time of asking, and our room key cards had to be re-coded several times. There is an adequate if minimal gym/fitness room and a small, clean pool to cool down in the hot afternoons, and just enough loungers. Dinner at the courtyard restaurant was varied, tasty and reasonably priced, but there are so many multi-cuisine restaurants in Mysore that you can easily dine more cheaply if you need to. Breakfast was most often a good range but it was a little inconsistent, except for the pastries which were uniformly dry and lacking in taste or texture.
Disappointment after Disappointment
We opted to splurge on the Royal Orchid Metropole Mysore based on previous reviews and the sumptuous photographs of promotional materials.
On arrival, I had high hopes that my expectations were going to be met—the hotel is lovely & the staff appeared welcoming. Unfortunately, our room was probably the least desirable of the hotel—steps from a dining area & and the “private” patio looked out over the parking lot (see photo). There was constant noise primarily from the overly loud piped in music (cheesy Christmas songs) within the hotel, techno music from a neighboring hotel, and traffic from the street.
The electrical wiring within the room was alarming, turning the overhead fan on/off created sparks and a burning smell (staff response “we’ll look into it” but they never did) and flickering overhead lights. We kept the fan off.
When my husband showered, the bathroom floor and beyond flooded due to clogged drains. I opted to use the claw foot tub & realized there was no place to rest soap/shampoo.
The most upsetting incident was the Christmas Eve gala dinner, an option available at additional cost that I chose when reserving the room and confirmed through the hotel months before arriving. On Christmas Eve we arrived in the dining area and told the waiter that we had ordered the gala dinner & he immediately responded that there was no gala dinner for our room number. I responded that I had reserved the gala dinner when I reserved the room a
We booked a room with king bed, and we were given twin beds
The staff weren’t accommodative and only said they will join and never understood what I was trying to say

Good stay
Good hotel for a stay in Mysore. Fools quality was also good.
I absolutely loved staying at the Royal Orchid Metropole in Mysore. The staff is attentive and friendly, the rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. I love the charming feel of this heritage hotel. I cannot wait to come back!
We loved the Royal Orchid Metropole hotel. Our room was very spacious and well appointed, with a comfortable bed and big balcony. The courtyard seating and restaurant are really beautiful and relaxing to sit in. The staff were perfectly helpful and attentive. The food was delicious at every meal. The location is also great (traffic noise notwithstanding) as it's a short walk to the train station and the palace.
The only thing we would change is the hotel bar, which doesn't have much of a range of drinks (especially if you want good wine, or a cocktail that's dry rather than sweet).
