  • It takes 1,000 butterflies to weigh one pound (.45kg), and the branches on this tree were sagging under the weight. The monarch colony here was quite different than at the more popular El Rosario sanctuary. 40 minutes outside Zitacuaro, near El Capulin, we chartered a couple of tiny mountain horses to take us up the rugged path to view the colony. The monarchs were clustered within a ravine, swirling around a few choice pine trees in search of sunny roosts. Whenever the sun went behind a cloud the butterflies scrambled into the air and back to the safety of the nucleus, knowing that settling down for the night outside the warmth of the colony would mean certain death.

Staff were friendly and responsive. Room was clean. Outdoor area next to room was spacious and we the elevated platform provided a lookout (mirador) of the mountains. Also appreciated the conveniently available filtered water.

Estancia y lugar agradable.

Una estancia agradable, considerando costo. Vimos que tienen un lindo mantenimiento en las áreas de jardín, plantas, el lugar se ve muy lindo. Las habitaciones están bien, aunque quizá necesiten un poco de mantenimiento preventivo y volver a darles una renovada... estuvimos a gusto mis papás y yo por dos noches. El hecho de contar con habitaciones donde se pueda descansar, dormir, bañarse y sentir confianza en la limpieza es básico para nosotros. Para nuestra próxima visita trataremos de quedarnos en el área más nueva.

Al registrarme, pregunté cuanto era la tarifa por cambiar a habitación cama Kingzise, el recepcionista me dijo que era un cargo mínimo. Al dia siguiente al pasar a liquidar, de $600 que era la habitación para 2 personas, me cobraron $900. Fué un robo. Restaurante cerrado. Nada cerca para comer. Alberca vacía. Fuente en reparacion. Nada de lo que se anuncia en Expedia.

Tranquilidad y comodidad

La recepción fue muy amable y las instalaciones del hotel en general son muy cómodas y brindan una sensación de tranquilidad, también todo muy limpio. Quizá sería recomendable dar un mantenimiento ya que algunas partes de las habitaciones se ven muy antiguas. pero en general es un muy buen sitio para alojarse y descansar.
