we only faced one inconvenient with the elevator because it was out of service and we were in the 5th floor, but other than that, everything was great.

Friendly and competent staff, taking good care of us during check-in. Monschau center is only 5 minutes walking away. Easy and fast internet. Modern rooms, big enough to accommodate 2 persons.

Excellent welcome and outstanding service from Ayaub at Reception, who went beyond the call of duty after his shift had ended, by walking with me to find my car which I had previously abandoned after misdirection by satnav on arrival in Monschau. Good value accommodation in a well-appointed hotel.

Great hotel and good value.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good sized, comfortable room, really good value for money. Only one complaint - could have done with coffee/tea making facilities in the room

Little old and tired, needs a refurb, good staff

I have stayed here many times in the past, but it hasnt updated for about 14 years, so old furniture, bathrooms etc. The staff try hard, buts the hotel needs updating. Bar is open limited hours (opens at 8pm), after restaurant closes, and thr restaurant is buffet only, with a very limited choice.

Leider war der Pool nicht in Betrieb. Sauberkeit war okay ,geht aber besser. Das Frühstück war nicht besonders was die Auswahl angeht. Es gab bei den zwei Frühstücken exakt das gleiche. Identische Wurst , Käse gleicher Kuchen, Obstsalat, da habe ich mehr erwartet. Qualität war in Ordnung

Slechte hygiëne, kamer pas om 20:30 uur klaar. Er zou een bed bij geplaatst worden, was gewoon een bedbank. Slechte bedden. Wc lekte en stonk. In het algemeen trappenhuis deuren kapot, lift zat vast. ‘s Ochtends moeite doen om uit te checken.

Wochenende in Monschau und Umgebung

Der Aufenthalt mit unseren Motorrädern im Achat-Hotel war ganz gut. Die Zimmer waren sauber, das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Auch das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich und lecker. Das, was mich gestört hat, waren die Nasszellen. Es gab dort keine Absauganlage oder ein Fenster, sodass nach einem Toilettengang oder dem Duschen ein Durchzug durch ganze Zimmer organisiert werden muss. Leider waren in unseren Duschen nur eine Badewanne mit Brause und nach dem Duschen stand das ganze Bad Unterwasser. Das Zimmer zu zweit zu nutzen muss Organisiert werden. Ich habe dann auch das Hallenbad genutzt, dass war nach jeder Tour sehr erfrischen und das kann ich auf jeden Fall empfelen.

The location is great, as its only 10 min away from the city center. However our room had a not very nice smell, and the shower made a terrible and annoying noise while being used. The guys from the reception were very friendly though, they gave us a couple of colas to compensate.

Leider war unser Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel insgesamt enttäuschend. Der Service ließ stark zu wünschen übrig: Teilweise mussten wir 30 bis 45 Minuten warten, bis überhaupt jemand an unseren Tisch kam, um nach Getränkewünschen zu fragen. Selbst wenn das Personal in den Biergarten kam, wurden die übrigen Gäste komplett ignoriert – ein kurzer Blickkontakt oder eine Nachfrage: Fehlanzeige. Meist war nur ein Mitarbeiter (wohl von der Rezeption) gleichzeitig auch für die Bar zuständig und bediente alle Gäste allein. Insgesamt haben wir während unseres dreitägigen Aufenthalts lediglich drei verschiedene Angestellte gesehen – für ein Hotel deutlich zu wenig. Auch die Zimmer waren leider nicht in gutem Zustand. Die Dusche quietschte laut beim Einschalten, im Zimmer roch es muffig, im Bad lagen lange schwarze Haare, und das Bett war voller dunkler Flusen – ein unhygienischer Eindruck, der leider den Gesamteindruck zusätzlich verschlechtert hat. Hinzu kam, dass der Aufzug weder die zweite noch die dritte Etage angefahren hat. Unser Zimmer befand sich im zweiten Stock, sodass wir gezwungen waren, die Treppe zu benutzen – was extrem schwierig war, da eine Person in unserer Gruppe eine Gehbehinderung hat und auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen ist.
