I recommend this gem in the forest of Girnar Super service and excellent restaurant with delicious food with personalized service from Mr. Jahid and staff Very helpful and friendly staff on the property who got the extra step for the guests!!

A big disappointment.

Booked this hotel as it was advertised as a 5 star hotel. Upon arrival we noticed how outdated and unclean the reception, bedrooms, dining hall and swimming pool were. The 2 rooms we booked were not maintained at all, as it broken cabinets, the tvs weren’t working (because the staff hadn’t bothered to renew the subscriptions for all the channels prior to our arrival) and the deposit safe was completely loose in the cupboard which meant that anyone could have carried it out of the room. The supposed ‘spa’ that was mentioned contained barely any working facilities, and the massage and steam room was just a lazily converted bedroom, with the bathroom being converted into a tiny steam room. The spa as a whole was no where near the levels as that of 5 star hotel. The only positives about the hotel were its great location, and its well maintained garden area. We expected a lot more from a hotel in the ‘Taj’ group of hotels, and it feels like this hotel should be barely given a 3 star rating.

Great location and amazing service

Amazing location near Gir Safari and absolutely brilliant service from all the members of staff. Rooms need desperately to be upgraded and some simple quick fix ideas would help. Get rid of the shower curtain and replace with a proper glass sliding door. Check air conditioner and the washroom as well to eliminate the foul smell of permanent dampness in the room

We just loved this place, an oasis really, away from the normal traffic noise, right next to the forest. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble, the beds were comfortable, the amenities perfect. We would definitely stay here again and thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Wonderful place to stay. Very amiable staff, helpful too. Hotel grounds very pleasant and well maintained. Location is perfect for visiting the Gir Forest. Can hear the lions roaring late evenings and early mornings. If you are visiting Sasan Gir, this is the place to stay. A memorable two day visit.

It was a wonderful stay for me and my India visiting niece. It was her first experience to travel to any wild-life sanctuary in the country and wanted to ensure that her stay be as comfortable as possible. Gateway's location, staff and the food at the restaurants ensured that we received everything that we were looking for and the stay despite the summer-like temperatures of 40 deg C + was extremely enjoyable.

Misusing of Taj name

We were in a family trip and booked gateway seeing it’s a Taj property but we felt to be cheated after reaching there location was nice but neither the rooms were of the standard what we have been charged and the worst part was food there was no variety and of no taste.

Beautiful location but a bit run down property

The location is beautiful but government owns it and does not allow hotel operator (Taj) to repair or improve. Landscape is marginal but kept clean. Dining staff is the best!

Old Property being upgraded.

We were travelling with an infant and booked the hotel for one night. The hotel is well located and the staff are eager to please. Unfortunately, we had some sort of an electric blackout at 3:45 am and no one answered the phone at the reception. We walked down to the reception and found it dark and deserted. We finally managed to wake up the attendant lying on the sofa nearby who came to the room but could not solve the problem. Finally, after about an hour the power was finally restored. We had to leave early in the morning and after getting little sleep at night we had no warm water in the shower in the morning. Needless to say we werent too happy.

Nice hotel on the river side

The hotel is in a nice place close to the national park. The stay was very comformtable. The food is good and the staff is good. The room are very small compared to the price you have to pay. Bed is also small and comfortable only for 2 guys.
