Clean room and nice breakfast. A bit noisy from the street traffic but overall a pleasant stay. Easy to get to from Castellane metro stop.

Castellane area of Marseille to discover on foot
Room on 7th floor (under roof) too warm to sleep comfortably and very, very small, ca. 5 SQM. Great location with amenities, Metro, two 24x7 bakeries, cinema, Basilica (Catholic), Kunz pressing (dry cleaners), authentic small market 4x per week, all within walking distance!

Booked a double room, it was comfortable enough for one short woman. The shower fixture needs replacing and wouldn't be comfortable for anyone taller than 5.9. Bed was nice. Pretty good location.

Great value, good breakfast
Stayed only one night en route to Cassis. Called hotel twice as flight delayed to say we would be really late to check. Lady very nice, said had our booking and her colleague would look after us. Was midnight when we finally got there and reception insisted we must pay, even though I said it was pre paid. It all got sorted in the morning with apologies . Breakfast good

Poor air con spoilt visit
O.k but not really better than a normal ibis. Rooms seemed to have gad a refurb job to make them look better but it was a relatively cheap job. Breakfast limited-but good irange juice. Close to Metro. Air con very poor. It was not a hot night, yet still air con failed to cool room to any extent. No desk space - a major failing. Overall ok and staff pleasant enough but wouldn’t necessarily go back. Having said that, much better than b and b hotel for same price

Very pleased with our choice . Freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast. Water, tea,coffee complementary all day. The only bad point was the air con in the room wasn’t great at all, we were too hot.

Budget friendly clean hotel
Budget friendly hotel- not in the most salubrious area but only 200 m from main metro stop and less than that from major road. Rooms are compact but clean ;Breakfast was adequate but we knew that before we booked. Great if you are looking for somewhere with easy connections to the main tourist spots but do not want to pay premium prices. Friendly reception despite our lack of French language. Only downside was that it was quite noisy outside from traffic etc.

Good hotel at a good price for central Marseille
Comfortable but basic. Rooms are a little on the small side but adequate. Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Good choice of food at breakfast (French style). Location excellent, 5 mins walk from Metro, lots of local restaurants, cafes, etc. Area is quite noisy but the double glazed windows plus roller blinds meant that when closed you can hardly hear it.

dated, did not meet expectations of Ibis Styles.
stayed in Ibis Styles hotel in Manchester Piccadilly, UK the week before, excellent hotel, thus booked the same again for Marseille, France. hotel was dated, not well looked after, stains in carpets, walls, no cleaning done around corners, furniture, Skirting, room constantly smelling of cigarette smoke/dust from air vents/air system. staff were friendly, excellent location, underground parking, and metro stop nearby.

Excellent value hotel in Marseille

Great hotel
This is a great 3 star hotel. It is not flashy, to be expected by the cost and the stars, but it is extremely clean; the rooms are well maintained and very comfortable; and the staff are amazing. We had a great deal of help from a couple of staff and they went out of their way to help us. The buffet was great. I couldn't fault this place. There were some dodgy people outside but to be honest they're everywhere in Marseille

Perfect if you need to be in this part of town.
Perfectly situated for the Prefecture. Single room was incredibly small yet well set out with en suite bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Area is dodgy and ugly and, unfortunately, so is the outside of the building. But inside is modern and clean. Breakfast room was small but plenty to choose from. Very friendly staff.

Sleepless night spoiled a great trip!
The Ibis Styles at Castellane is a great location if you are attending a match at the Stade Velodrome, 20 minute walk or couple of stops on the Metro. Hotel staff are very helpful and the rooms are small but very nice. The main problem is it's close proximity to a link road that feeds into the main route to the South. There was an endless stream of traffic all night and the noise was unbearable. For that reason I would not stay at this hotel again.

A short trip to a sporting event.

The hotel was perfectly pleasant. The lady on the front desk was excellent, she spoke perfect english, was full of humour and overall very helpful. Everything else was OK. The only thing which let it down was the fact that all the common areas were very darkly lit which wasn't to my personal preference but an OK hotel in an OK area.

This hotel is quite far away from any of the tourist areas so be prepared to walk. Our room was cleaned everyday but really no more than the bed being made and fresh towels no clean bedding put on. I'm sure that some of the rooms look like the pictures but ours certainly didnt. It was small and dank with no light coming in as the window was overlooked by flats. The flats were attached on the corner of the building so more than once we had to close the curtains because of someone walking past our bedroom and looking in. Overall I felt that the hotle was ok for the price but I would not reccomend or stay there again.

Great staff in nice hotel.
Decent location. 15-20 mins walk to Port Vieux or can get metro at Castellane 5 mins walk from hotel. Room was not the biggest for enough space for our 4 day stay. Breakfast was decent and filling. Staff, especially those at reception were really helpful and welcoming! Got 3 nights for reasonable cost - would have had too pay double to get close to Port Vieux. We enjoyed our stay. Have put a more detailed review on Tripadvisor.

Fantastic location with friendly, helpful staff.
Stayed just the one night before beginning a cruise in Marseilles. A very nice hotel in a fantastic central location. The Castellane Metro station (which is one of the crossover stations between the two metro lines in Marseilles) is only a few minutes walk away, so a perfect base from which to explore the city. My partner and I were able to get a bus from the Airport to Gare-St-Charles and a metro from there to Castellane, so avoided an expensive taxi ride to the hotel. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, with good to excellent English. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel when we arrived too early for check-in and also pick them up late on the day of our departure. The breakfast was very nice, with a range of bread, croissants, cereals, cheeses and meats. The rooms were relatively large, with good size bathrooms. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The only (and very minor) negative comment I would have about this hotel is that everything was purple! The corridors and room are rather garishly decorated in an overpowering shade of purple, which is my only reason for marking the hotel down to a 4 on 'condition'. Overall, a very pleasant experience (particularly in respect of the staff, who I can't emphasise enough how friendly and welcoming they were). Highly recommended.

Purple themed rooms, oh lala, and a car park!
Was very surprised at how unique this hotel stood out among the others. Multiple computers for free internet access, even a car park which is rare in Europe. Definitely a great experience.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel because it was clean and friendly. Very nice breakfast in the morning. Helpful staff, especially Marielle who spoke very good English and couldn't do enough for us! Close to shops, buses and the metro and was easy to get around to see points of interest like Vieux Port and Notre Dame de la Garde.

We stayed in this hotel as an easy way to get our 8 year old to bed after an OM football game at the Velodrome. It was a quick 15 minute walk to and from the stadium. The hotel is simple, but serviceable and clean. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise - lots of variety, fresh and the breakfast room was well maintained and clean.
