GrandStay Residential Suites - Eau Claire

"The room was the bright spot. Spacious, clean, over the top happy with the room. Front desk person needs to work in a basement on a computer away from people. Was not pleasant AT ALL. Almost acted like we were intruding on his time. Bordered on being rude. The breakfast was crap. Eggs were like a hockey puck and cold. Sausage was cold. Biscuits and gravy were hot and good. No effort made to put a good breakfast together. Cheap and no pride in this area of service. Plan to eat breakfast out not this crap. The area seemed very convenient and safe. Obviously they use a water softener because the water had a film when rinsing off. This is ok BUT it made the bottom of the shower super slick. No mats down so I’ll predict a lawsuit from someone slipping and falling in the shower if this is not addressed. It’s a damn shame, it really is. They give you a room to die for, outstanding in every way but they fail in just about every other area. The breakfast is the last thing on top of the mind and what a shame. If breakfast and staff is not important to you then this would be a great place for you to choose. I know we WILL stay here again in a heartbeat BUT will lower our expectations on breakfast and eat out. And we will make sure to not be offended by the front desk person who was terrible."

"Staff were all friendly and always said hello/good morning. Front desk woman was very accommodating; we got in a night earlier than expected and while I had booked another night, she ensured we wouldn't have to swap rooms the next morning which was very nice for her. Room was very clean and nice, bed was kinda hard/stiff but that's personal preference. We LOVED the breakfast there; many more choices than typical hotel. The outdoor area was lovely, with plenty of seating and firepits. Large containers of shampoo/conditioner/soap which I always appreciate. My husband was grateful for the ironing board and iron, although the iron seemed dirty or something as it left dark marks on his white shirt. Parking seemed like there was always enough for everyone. Overall a lovely experience, great staff and wonderful vibes."

"The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The bar and patio were nice. The room decor was whimsical and you can check out records to play in your room. The bed was very comfortable. I would have given it 4 stars is not for the bathroom design. The toilet and shower are in one room with a barn door and right off the bedroom. If you don't close the door, you are staring at the toilet from bed. The sink is around the corner from the bed, between the bedroom and the sitting area. So, there is no privacy will using the sink and you must walk through the bedroom to get to the sink. Not a good design choice."

"Perfectly situated in downtown Chippewa Falls, with everything in walking distance! Our King suite was comfy, and we appreciated the mini-fridge and Starbucks coffee. The complimentary hot breakfast was a highlight with eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, waffle maker, fruit, etc. The person who set up breakfast was very nice and attentive. Desk staff were largely absent, but we didn't need much. In the vending area, you can get a pizza and bake it in a pizza oven...super convenient for late night arrival. My only disappointment is the in-room entertainment: it was just basic cable TV, we couldn't play Netflix or other streaming services."
