Approaching site of former Llangedwyn station, 2001. View northward across the Tanat Valley, the station having been on the right just beyond the prominent farm-house. Crossing from right to left had been the Tanat Valley Light Railway (ex-Cambrian Railways/GWR) line from Oswestry via Blodwell Junction to Llangynog. The station closed when the passenger service ceased from 15/1/51, goods from 1/7/52 - but was worked Blodwell Junction - Llanrhaidr Mochnant until 6/1/64.

Overall a great hotel let down by a couple of minor points in the spa gym. I couldn't find a single locker door that would lock and the water was off while work was being done on the system. Check-in was simple, parking only £5 for the night, found our room on the second floor, overlooking the road. Room was spacious, clean and tidy, it was quiet warm in the room. Slept ok until the road noise kicked in and the collection of bins full of bottles from the nearby bars.
