Enjoyed my stay at Antiq Palace Hotel. Welcoming staff and comfortable accommodations. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate to enjoy coffee in the courtyard, but an overall pleasant stay and easily walkable to restaurants and cafes.

There’s a musty smell in the rooms. In disrepair but they are slowly renovating. I didn’t know you couldn’t drive to the hotel and must call hotel and wait for them to let you into the no car area. Staff were very helpful and kind.

Staff is courteous and professional. The room was unexpectedly spacious. Bed was comfortable and there were extra pillows and blanket (both needed). I like the location. Breakfast was passable. (Note to orange juice fans: don’t.) Nothing warm. No sugar for coffee. Lots of cereal but no milk, perhaps that is provided by a server. But the reason I won’t be back is no hot water. This is one of those places with ‘hot’ water just warm enough to differentiate it from cold. So, miserable showers, inefficient hand washing and no faith whatsoever in the cleanliness of the kitchenware provided. If you’re ok with lukewarm water, and no OJ, this place is fine. I got a great deal, so look for one. Otherwise, like me, keep looking.

Huge room, helpful staff, great location!

Fantastic stay. The front desk was incredibly helpful. They were able to help us with airport transfers and at a price that was far less expensive than the normal taxis. We also had a beautiful room, which was huge! Location was great, just a block from the canal and walking distance to everything. Would absolutely stay again.

Stunning palace hotel with great service

Stunning building and decor, a real gem in the city centre. Unique and full of character, the building is decorated to the highest standards with a green patio to enjoy a drink. Located in a quiet street in the very centre, steps away from the riverside, it has a perfect location to explore the town. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was enormous and bright with AC. Stylish furniture in the room and a real comfortable stay. Super experience and I wish there were more hotels like this.

No air conditioning in the room, despite being led to believe there was. This made the warm very warm and stuffy given the 32 degree heat. Mattress sloped away on one side. Fridge was no cooler than room temperature. Shower temperature couldn't be made cooler once it was warm. Bathroom door handles were sticky and mouldy. Nice big room was a positive. Definitely didn't meet my expectations of a 4 star hotel. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful

Disappointed with mouldy bathroom and servicing.

This hotel was disappointing. We selected it on a Lonely Planet recommendation, its location & awards for design. Unfortunately fell below expectation. Much effort & money had gone into the interior design & reception areas were lovely. We had a suite & the bedroom was comfortable, lovely light fitting. There was an attached sitting room which felt austere, although the ceiling was beautiful. The bathroom fell well short of acceptable standards. Although money had been spent on fancy corner bath and brass fittings the heavy presence of mould in the shower and dirty toilet bowl rim made this room unpleasant to use. The sink taps dripped constantly. The shower door did not meet the shower panel and so the shower leaked onto the floor. In this 4* hotel there was no hand soap or even tea bags. We asked for some to be provided the next morning. We were surprised to return to our room later in the day to find that hand soap had been provided & was placed directly adjacent to a pile of soaking wet towels & a bathmat we had used to mop the flooded floor with. Our room was not serviced at all. We queried at reception & was advised that due to Covid restrictions no room servicing was occurring unless by special request. Very strange to reduce hygiene for Covid! We did not experience poor hygiene elsewhere in Slovenia in lower * cheaper hotels. I think the hotel owners have prioritised fancy frills over basic cleanliness & comfort. Positives - location & lovely reception staff.

Overall, the property was really lovely. The staff was incredibly helpful and went out of their way to ensure that we were enjoying our stay. The room was fantastic and bigger than some apartments I've lived in. The area is central and about a block from the river front.

Great stay in an enormous suite, with great staff. Room is dated and need modernisation but otherwise comfortable and clean. Better than staying in a business hotel. Quiet at night though there was a huge noisy event by the bridge which was done by 11pm
