Our one night stay at Château Picol was our first experience in a French Château.
Our hosts served delicious food, which included local produce.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We arrived after a very long journey and the welcome we received from Charlotte was amazing! She was so helpful and kind in making sure we had everything we needed! The accommodation was super clean and comfortable. And I don't know where to start with the homemade breakfast - we all ate so much as it was all really tasty and fresh. We will definitely stay here again when travelling through France!

We love this place! Everything about it, the ambience, friendly staff, the comfortable, clean rooms and mostly the breakfasts! The buffet style breakfast is so thoughtfully done and much of it is organic, local and some even homemade. There is even the choice to make up your own loose leaf tea from a wide range with your own little teabag. Another bonus is it is quiet and peaceful so you can truly relax. And the air con in the summer heat is at just the right level. Can’t wait to return!

The overall experience was good. The staff were very nice and willing to help.
The hotel is very French which we liked but the carpet in our bedroom was very stiff hessian and therefore uncomfortable on bear feet
The staircases 2 were very steep, very narrow and winding in my view not suitable for anyone with any kind of mobility issues.
Breakfast was continental no meat or cheese but more than adequate.
There is no restaurant facilities at the hotel however only a 5 minute walk is an IBIS...

Beautiful property. Wonderful host. Could not ask for more. We have stay in 8 hotels over three weeks of this holiday and this was the best bed and most comfortable.

This is an absolutely delightful little hotel with very warm and welcoming hosts, Vicky and Jean Luc, who went well out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful time. Our room was simply lovely and the breakfasts were fabulous with freshly squeezed orange juice, really good coffee and delicious croissants, fruit salads and yoghurts. If you are visiting Poitiers or passing through on your way to other parts of France or Europe it is a complete treat to stay here. We were there for five...

A very nice stay in a lovely old building that has been sympathetically modernised and included air conditioning
It is a 5 min walk to the river and we went to a very nice restaurant around the corner that the hotel owner recommended

Cannot praise this highly enough - second visit and it gets better every time. Wonderful welcome, Tabled’Hote meal, tranquility and accommodation. Completely faultless. Highly recommended.

Philippe was a welcoming and wonderful host. Even though we arrived a little later than planned, Philippe took the time to show us on the map where to go for dinner, showed us our room and the facilities and didn’t rush us in anyway. The room was lovely and very well appointed. The garden was magnificent full of plants and old fashion roses that smelled of proper roses. The breakfast was a work of art, delicious and plentiful. The town centre is about 10/15 minutes walk from the house, via...
