Nothing on Hotel.com prepares you for the fact that you need to book in to another hotel's reception nor that when you try to do so the receptionist will deny knowing anything about the procedure. Nor will you know that, when you phone the hotel, they will sigh in exasperation that you cannot speak German and that they will be pretty rude to you. "When I checked-in my room wasn’t ready. Once I received the key to my room, I unlocked it and someone else was just talking on the phone in my room! On top of this, the air conditioning was a joke and I truly worried that I may pass out from the heat of the room. They only gave me one pillow and winter blanket. I wouldn’t stay here again. "
