My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the eclectic look of the entire resort and how it is nothing like any resort/hotel we’ve ever stayed. Although its location is not “close” to restaurants, shopping, the beach, etc., they are within 10-20 minutes walking distance. The photos shown on different sites do not capture what you will experience when you are there. I would highly recommend this resort!!!

Glastonbury in Thailand
This was perfect for us.... we felt very much at home here. It's a little rough around the edges in places but we stayed in shiny resorts that were stale and pomp. Lovely friendly staff. Great to see children enjoying themselves not on screens. Impossible to see all the artwork, every day we'd see something new. We would definitely come back here.

Whimsical Getaway
This resort is absolutely magical! It felt like a whimsical garden of Eden. The staff were amazing and super nice. They helped us rent scooters, book excursions and massages, and even personally drove us to the pier on our last day. Breakfast was good, and one of the resort dogs is a sweetheart! He would come and greet me every time we returned on our scooters. The family suite has an amazing view and porch to relax on. Since it’s a rustic room I expected to see a lot of bugs and geckos but it was super clean and bug free. The only thing that could improve was the beds were pretty firm. Overall I highly recommend and I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Absolutely beautiful experience, very old school Samui. You could spend hours looking at the art all over the resort. Pool was refreshing with a view over the water. Bit of a walk to the beach or Lamai, this place is best enjoyed with a rental car or scooter. Rooms a bit rustic but it adds to vibe.

My family and me stayed for two weeks in a family home in the Varinda Garden. The Varinda Garden is one of the most beautiful and lovely resorts on the island, so unique and artistic. We have never been to such a special place before. The Garden is perfect for children with a great pool and lots of other things to discover. We had a very clean and comfortable family house with an astonishing sea view. The food and the breakfast was very delicous and also beautiful and healthy. The Garden is run by a family which is very friendly and lovely. At every time there was someone you could talk to and get usefull information about the island. This is a place for the esthetic eye. Even on our last day, we spottet details we hadn't recognized before. The beach, a supermarket and the Lamai main street are nearby, everything reachable within 5 minutes. If you want to have a special holiday with memories and pictures for your life, we highly recommend you this awesome place. Best regards to the Varinda Garden Family and Staff and thank you for all the special, nice things.

Personal hatte immer ein fröhliches Lachen. Inhaberfamilie war stehts da und hat beraten und über persönliche Sachen und Erlebnisse gesprochen. Herzlicher Empfang. Es gibt in der Anlage immer wieder neue Sachen und Dekorationen zum entdecken. Anlage ist in der Natur. Viele alte Bäume und Wasseranlage. Herrliche Aussicht über Lamai Beach und das Meer. Es war wieder ein wundervoller Urlaub. Danke an den super Service von der Rezeption bis hin zur Küche,Zimmerservice und die Bedienung. Alles war super. Es gibt nichts zu meckern,wie vor acht Jahren schon. Wir fühlen uns immer sehr wohl. Danke an das gesamte Team. Großes Lob👍👌

A hidden gem not far from Lamai beach
What a lovely resort this is. I enjoyed my 6 days here, I should have stayed much longer! The owners are very sweet and make you feel at home. There is something very colorful and peaceful (a lot of wonderful Buddha quotes) about this place. Lots of birds and butterflies. I had a basic cottage which was all I needed. Breakfast was great as well. I will definitely come back!

Das Hotel ist wirklich einzigartig und individuell eingerichtet. Leider ist das Frühstück wirklich schlecht. Es gibt 4 verschiedene Gerichte zum Frühstück und was garnicht geht maximal 2 kleine Tassen Kaffee. Die Sauberkeit unseres Zimmers war richtig übel. Am ersten Tag haben wir alle Betten neu beziehen lassen da alles voller Flecken war. So richtig wohl gefühlt haben wir uns nicht. Wir haben einfach das beste daraus gemacht und unseren Urlaub trotzdem sehr genossen.

ビーチまで遠い
ビーチまでは歩いて10～15分。 小さい子供を連れての宿泊は、かなりハードでした。 急な階段と坂道を歩かないとビーチまでたどり着けないし、 帰りは、部活並みの体力が必要。 小さい子連れ、年配の方と一緒の場合はお勧めできません。 また、店が集まるところからも離れており、 近くにお店もないので、ビーチ近くで食事・買い物をしないと、 部屋まで戻った後は、何もありません。 ホテルの従業員はとても親切で、チェックイン・アウトともにスムーズでした。 滑り台のあるプールには子供は大喜びでした。

Liebevolle Anlage
Wir waren schon zum 2. Mal im Varinda Garden und uns hat es wieder sehr gefallen. Die Anlage ist liebevoll gestaltet, es gibt immer etwas zu entdecken. Wir waren mit unserem 3 jährigem Sohn, er fand die 2 Pools mit der Rutsche sehr schön. Die Zimmer sind sehr originell und typisch Thai. Anfangs roch es etwas muffig aber mit lüften und Raumspray war alles gut. Der Weg zum Strand ist ok, man ist schnell in der Shoppingstraße. Wenn man das Hotel über den Haupteingang verlässt ist man in 2 Minuten im Makro Markt.

Awesome Decor and Clean
Great place with awesome decoration and art, possibly hippie inspired. Beautiful view from pool area. Each unit is a private bungalow. Tie dyed sheets were a nice touch. It is a bit of a walk down the hill to the beach and simce I injured my foot the day before I stayed only one night and got a beachfront room. Only negative is that it is not beach front.

Beautiful, unique and full of love
This was the greatest place I have ever stayed. It is family owned and you can tell the staff really care and love it. It is extraordinarily clean - the room, pool area, restaurant ... spotless. The beach and town were very easy to access down a path (maybe 10 min?). The upcycled decorations and inspirational signs around the property created a loving, positive vibe. I have not a single bad thing to say about this place. It was absolutely perfect and I highly recommend it!

beautiful setting, 5 minutes to beach.
Typically Thai experience that is fast disappearing. Great food, Fantastic views and lovely people. If you are a nature lover and a dog lover this is a must visit place. You are surrounded by beautiful artwork and lovingly cultivated gardens in a wonderfully calming atmosphere. Your heart and mind will be healed by this place... Absolutely fabulous.. keep up the good works guys xx

Fantastiskt må bra hotel!
Helt underbart ställe med fantastisk personal. Vi var där med våra två 12åringar så den lilla stugan med två separata sovrum passade perfekt. Sängarna var toppen. Det fanns en liten pool med fantastisk utsikt om man inte ville till stranden (som låg 10 minuters promenad bort). Hotellet torde vara unikt med udda saker och positiva budskap överallt. Allt inbäddat i en grönskande djungel. Hut åker vi gärna igen!

Riktigt fin resort på kullen i slutet av Lamai beach. Superfin utsikt vid poolen. Personalen är helt fantastisk. Lite hårda sängar för mig med ryggproblem men annars finns inget minus från mig.

Beatiful views and nice atmosphere
We were really unlucky with the weather during the week we spend at Varinda but the manager and her staff gave their best effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Khun Varinda, the hotel manager speaks perfect English and is super friendly and helpful. This resort is suitable for both couples and families. Very exciting environtments and fantastic views from the restaurant and pool area. We would like to recommend everybody this resort and we are happy to come back next time we travel to Koh Samui

Wonderland
If you ever thought about building your own dreamland, this is it. The moment u entered its realm you will be fascinated by all the colors, plants and crafts stacked into this small place. The room is simple natural style. The infinite swimming pool and the restaurant is so funky and overlooking the whole Lamai Beach. One problem is too many mosquitos if you are surrounded by nature and no rope or stack to hang the washed clothes.

A wonderful different hotel... loved it!!
A vibrant colourful individual hotel. Spacious clean rooms with air con, tv, towels, kettle, fridge. Swimming pool, restaurant with helpful friendly staff. A quick walk to the beach.

Feel of Having Survived Jungle Camp &too Expensive
We stayed in Family room 35 which has not seen any renovations for decades. It is very dark in all rooms during the day, roaches seen on tables at night. Hotel tries to maximize its profit at minimal service: credit card is billed directly in Euro at very unfavorable rate; free of charge Wifi available only next to registration & billed anywhere else, which is nonconfirming to current Thailand standards, hotel charges outrageous 700 Baht for taxi to airport. We were bitten multiple times every night by mosquitos. Mosquito nettings only available in one of two bedrooms. Nice pool area with great views of Lamai. Would book a modern hotel closer to beach next time.

A really friendly experience
We loved this place so much, I would recommend it to anyone visiting the island. The place itself is very unique and different in style to most hotels with its quirky charm. It is also very comfortable and clean. But most of all, it is family run by the loveliest people and their 4 friendly dogs, it makes such a difference to have this genuine friendly welcome rather than normal hotels where it's just someone's job. I felt very at home here. We spent 3 nights at multiple locations, I would definitely recommend anyone doing the same stays at Varinda

Nous avons passé un séjour de 5 jours à Koh Samui dans cet hôtel très beau : il s'agit de petites maisons individuelles ou de petits appartements tous décorés dans le style thaï ; l'hôtel est vraiment un très bel endroit, situé dans une végétation intense ; l'accueil est très chaleureux et très souriant. Les deux seuls points légèrement négatifs que nous aurions à déplorer sont les suivants : nous avons croisé beaucoup de "bêtes " en tout genre (caméléons, gekos, grosses araignées, un serpent, un scorpion) et l'accès à la plage se fait par de nombreuses marches d'escaliers un peu raides (donc peut-être pas à conseiller à tout le monde)

Hotel with character
If you are looking for marble floors and gold taps, this hotel is probably not for you. If you are looking for something a bit different, full of charm and character with good, friendly service at a family run hotel, it is. Accommodation was in Thai style bungalows, all done out differently with bags of character. Granted, perhaps could do with upgrading (towels and bedding a bit worn) but very clean and maid service was great - towels and bedding changed every single day. Good restaurant and lovely pool idea for families and kids and with lots of shady areas to relax in and get a spot of privacy. Short walk to Lamai centre and beach. Up an incline and shortcut via set of steep steps so not good if you are not very mobile or fit. Would we visit again - YES!

Un endroit Magique! Et un personnel .....!plus que parfait snif...... 2semaines que de bons souvenirs et de bonheur .j y retournerait sans problème et avec joie .vive la Thaïlande

Horrendous, or just misguided.
If you are going to book this hotel on the pictures here, than know that this is as dangerous as marrying someone from tinder based on their profile pic. I think I read an article once which said that everyone has at least five good photos of themselves. It is only under high definition and the light of day that the gravitas of this design crime is truly felt. Have you ever taken a psychadelic drug, had a really bad trip and woken up in an asylum? No? Then welcome to Varinda. Every possible inch or space has been filled with the detritus of a mad man. Mixed in with the thoroughly uncurated decor are the unnecessarily strict and repetitive warnings not to move or touch the furniture. It is as if the owners are aware that any slight adjustment to the placement would cause a singularity forcing the universe to collapse in on itself. Perhaps for the good, as we move onto the room that we paid $80 never to be seen again. Do you remember those bedsheets that your grandparents kept in the cupboard only to be brought out every five years when extended family was over? The you will be well versed for the stench of musk and stale breath that await you. In all honesty apart from a few sections of the wall falling down the room was serviceable, if overpriced. As for breakfast, let me just say if you offer a starving, disabled Labrador a bite under the table and he turns his nose up that says it all. Avoid the breakfast all together by booking anywhere else. Please.

We stayed at Varinda Garden Resort for 15 nights. It was a great holiday. Hotel is like a garden, very lovely. The atmosphere is relaxing. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Pool is clean and tidy. Breakfast is basic but alright. Definitely recommend. Would we stay again? Definitely.
