I booked Coral Bungalows for 4 nights. We were to stay January 6th through January 10th 2020. David, who works the front desk, wasd the shape best. Friendly, kind and considerate. Upon checking in were there first red flags. I had to leave my passport and put down a deposit for the key to the room. After that we were taken to the room for an initial inspection. The same type of inspection if you're renting an apartment. We had to check condition and functionality of everything. Since i had not been to Thailand before i went along with it. The room was tidy. There were no amenities in the room that you typically find when staying somewhere. No TV, soap, shampoo, no way to heat water, etc. The room smelled of mildew and stagnate water. When entering the bathroom there wad definite watery damage from the above room leaking. Black mold on the walls and ceiling.
There was no optionfor a breakfast buffet as found in nearly every hotel. They do have quite a nice bar/restaurant.
After our first night there were went to visit friends at another resort on the island. As soon as I walked into their place I knew that Coral Bungalows was sub par. I immediately changed over to my friends resort. At check out of we're were subject to the same inspection as when we checked in. I forfeited the money paid to Coral Bungalows only staying one night of the intended four nights.
I imagine their policies stem from tourists trashing rooms, breaking stuff, stealing stuff and losing stuff.
