Love my trip with the aircon off.
Everything was superb. The only issue was the ‘in window air conditioner (the king you find at roadside motels) that was super loud and vibrated hard enough to shake the sliding glass door beside it. So, if you like that white noise, cool. I was there in the Winter, so open windows with no air conditioner worked fine.

Maui Banyan 2023
This was the best trip to Maui ever! The Maui Banyan was perfectly located directly across the street from the beach and within walking distance to great food and shopping. The condo we stayed in was newly renovated and so cute! Having two bathrooms was perfect! The service was great, we thought we would not have any maid service during our stay, but 4 days in fresh towels were delivered! Parking was free and readily available. And the sunsets each night were heavenly! We cannot wait to go back!

An amazing place to stay
Over all the property is amazing. It's located on Kihei road making it right in the middle of expensive, but amazing shops. They have kayaks and Surf boards you can grab to go out to the beach located right across the streets or any other beach. The room was clean, well managed and house keeping was consistent. The only downside was the floor being a bit dirty, but other than that the property parking, pools, room and staff were all excellent.

Geek-run and well-maintained property in beautiful location. Could use some updating (e.g. pocket doors separating bedroom provided insufficient privacy and quiet). Housekeeping schedule was not followed, although we had what we needed.

The location is great, pool, beach access, town, restaurants. We stayed there 3 prior occasions. The property is very old and needs updates & lobby. Check-in time is very late, we requested earlier check-in for health reasons, and room didn't become available til 4:15pm. Parking is challenging, guests parked in our spot on 2 nights so we had to find another. Need more entry level parking vs. climbing a number of stairs to upper garage. Overall, it was a great place and wonderful vacation.

The a/c was in living room only and not powerful enough to reach bedroom even when ceiling fan is on at the same time. Building had no elevator for upper floors making stairs difficult for older guests with luggage and not accessible to people with mobility problem.

Great place to stay relatively cheap in comparaison to other places in Maui. Love the fact that you have a kitchen and that you can cook you’re own food. Best trick is to stop at Walt-Mart and make a grocery. Maui is expensive. 15 minutes away from Big beach, the most beautiful beach of the island. I would definitively go back again if I would go back to Maui

There is no cleaning services and they charged $100 plus tax for end of stay cleaning. Only give 1 small tube of shampoo and conditioner. If you need more there will $3 each and can only use for 1 time. We stay for 6 daysand no restocking supply and the supply only last 1 day of use so be prepared to bring your own supplies.

While it's showing its age on the outside, the condition inside is quite good. This was definitely a more relaxing setup for us than being in a hotel. Washing machine, kitchen, and dining area were very convenient. The swimming pools and Hot tubs are nice as well. Easy walk to the beach and a short drive to Wailea.

Our first room had an issue with cockroaches. We had excellent service from the receptionist. When we went to the front desk, they were extremely apologetic and moved us to a room without any bug issues.

Our check in was delayed by hour, the toilet was broken, the table glass was broken, the toiletries weren't replenished and the room wasn't cleaned for the 6 days we were in.

I would point out that at Maui Banyan Basic the only housekeeping services provide are the departure cleaning and does not include any cleaning services though you can arrange a cleaning with the front desk for a fee. Great location in kihei and just located across the street from the beach. Room was great nice size loved the condo style with full kitchens washer dryers in them. Pool areas had bbqs and hot tub was hot. Only thing about this place was no ocean front views but that was okay as you could just walk to beach in a few minutes. Great walking distance to restaurants and stores. I would definitely stay here again.

Location and property was great. Our room needed a serious update, but included a surprising partial ocean view, which allowed for grace. The tub/shower was difficult to get in and out of, as the door had restricted access, creating an unsafe entrance and exit, with no grab bars for safety. The striker plate at the entrance to our room stuck out too far which could cause an injury due to the sharp edge. The drapes had masking tape on them to repair an 8 inch rip. Very tacky. The room layout was great and the kitchen was well stocked. The built in microwave was boarded up, but a counter one was present. Also, very tacky. Obviously, the owners have not invested much in repairs and updates. The customer service was amazing. Centrally located in Kihei with the beach, shops, and food all within walking distance.

This property is located across the street from Kam 2 and Kam 3 beaches. Perfect places for enjoying the beach, watching the whales swimming, relaxing and BBQ with friends and family. The pool area was just as nice. Several BBQ to use anytime. The property was clean, neat and the staff was extremely helpful if you had any questions. If I had an issue it would have been the parking. No real instructions as to where you could or could not park. But that did not take away from our time there at all. Met several people there from other parts of the world. They stay there for the same reasons I mentioned above We will definitely be going back.

Overall, we loved the room. But, be prepared to provide your own kitchen amenities. No basics at all like salt, pepper, oil, plastic wrap etc. Also, this is NOT small, 20-room property as is advertised. This is a huge complex w 250+ rooms. However, location was great, it was comfortable, clean, and the air conditioners were very nice.

The resort is larger than the 20 units we are privileged to manage as it is a condominium resort and each unit is individually owned. Second, most condo properties do not keep spices and/or oils in their kitchens as there are spoilage,to consider and guests cannot know what I prior guest may or may not have done with those consumables. Safety first. I advise guests after arrival to make a shopping list of food and other consumables and then proceed to the nearest store to fulfill their list. Easy checkin at the office. Room was available prior to 4:00 checkin time at 3:00 so worked great. Room 305 was 1 bedroom with 2 bathrooms and well stocked kitchen/ bathrooms. Lots of towels, comfy bed, and dark wicker furniture. Great balcony with mountain and partial ocean views. They called mid week if want housekeeping done. Easy checkout directions, nice property in south Kihei close to restaurants and across street to nice beach park.

Great Stay on the Cheaper Side
If you’re looking to do Maui on the cheaper side, the Maui Banyan Basic by AEI should be on your radar! Our condo ended up being the perfect accommodation for us, and it is situated in one of the best spots on the island! You’re minutes away from countless beaches, restaurants and little shopping centers. We had a great view of the ocean and a comfortable room. The condo does look a little outdated, but it was perfect for our stay. And the free parking was an added bonus!
