The hotel was nice but the owner’s attention was on point the BEST attention to all guests staying and also dining at the restaurant!
I would recommend this hotel if your staying in uganda.
Spacious and a very lovely room with a big bathroom. Charming interior design with a colonial vibe. The hotel is right next to a very good Italian restaurant. The only thing missing is a garden.
Great property for those looking for a nice boutique hotel attached to a amazing Italian restaurant.
All the Staff were wonderful!
Definitely will be back soon!
My feedback comes in two parts. A) The restaurant was excellent, serving very good quality meals by efficient and friendly waiters in a very pleasant atmosphere. The prices are a bit above those for top end restaurants in Kampala. B) My room, being billed as a "Deluxe Double" was small as was the bathroom. The furnishing was not "boutique" style. It was not even quiet as the hotel hosts parties and live music fairly often. For breakfast there was no menu, limited choice one had to remember. Overall, in this price class (£ 95 / night) there are hotels giving better value for money, such as the Fairway. I stayed there a few days earlier and had a very large and comfortable room with excellent sleep quality.
Very clean room with modern touches. Great Wifi. Wonderful restaurant on-site with great Italian/Mediterranean including awesome wood-fired pizza. Located near downtown Kampala, Arcadia Mall, and MUJHU hospital and more.
Property is smaller than l thought it would be. The room definitely has some colonial character, but was smaller than expected. The restaurant was nice, but pricey though.

Ihan kiva
Kivalla sijainnilla oleva pieni hotelli. Palvelu aika olematonta. Huoneessa kaikki tarpeellinen ja siisti. Huoneella oma terassi, kiva lisä. Sänky aika kova. Aamupala viereisessä Mediterriano ravintolassa, ihan ok kokonaisuus.
This is a brilliant option if you want peace, quiet, a little style and great food. The restaurant (Mediterraneo) is one of the best in Kampala so I tried the accommodation as well. Pretty good and very good value. Would definitely return.
We stayed at the guest house on two separate occasions in two separate double rooms. Both rooms were very clean and well appointed. They each had enormous closet space, which was convenient. Hot water and Wi-Fi were reliable. The staff were pleasant and professional. Breakfast was included and was a generous portion of delicious food. The adjacent restaurant has an excellent Italian menu, albeit a bit pricey. This guesthouse is terrific value for the money. It’s in a convenient location, walkable distance to the Acacia Mall area that has plenty of affordable restaurants. The grounds are lovely.

Oranges and Lemons
We have stayed at Villa Kololo many times yet recently, the vibe has changed. It used to be a beautiful garden setting - very natural and authentic Italian style restaurant, and well maintained.
Now, there are plastic oranges and lemons everywhere, fake flowers, and the real garden is overgrown and not maintained well.
We feel the standard is slipping away, which is very sad. It used to be my favourite place to stay in Kampala.
The breakfast service was disappointing - servers not very friendly, food very slow and average.
Beds are still very comfortable though.
If you like plastic oranges and lemons - you’ll love it!!
I stayed for one night and had to check out at 6:00 AM. I asked the front desk staff if breakfast could be packed to go. She assured me that the meals would be prepared after the restaurant closed that evening. Upon entering the room, I found it smaller than expected. There was no door knob for the room or the restroom, which was quite unusual. Additionally, there was no place to put the soap except on the floor, which was inconvenient. The room's furniture was outdated. The hotel has a restaurant called Mediterraneo. I ordered pasta, but it was disappointing in flavor. The price was disproportionate to the quality. At checkout, I asked the front desk staff if the meals were ready. After checking the refrigerator, he informed me that no meals were prepared. I was deeply disappointed and left the hotel hungry. I left a message for the hotel through the app but received no response after a week. I don’t recommend this hotel and would not return.
Great location, comfortable bed, nice hot shower, very helpful staff (special thanks to Joanne), nice green surroundings, nicely decorated restaurant, good breakfast albeit not varied.
On to the things that were not so great, the restaurant food is a bit overpriced/over hyped... my lamb shank wasn't fall of the bone and the vegetables were bland, far too many unnecessary small tapestry/rugs on the floor that aren't glued in place and look like they need a clean, lighting inside the bedroom and bathroom were inadequate, it felt like some of the installations in the room were an afterthought that weren't skillfully executed (e.g. the electrical sockets, light fixtures, faucets and shower heads), no room numbers on the room door exterior, one of the rooms in the hotel suffers from noise pollution.
The villa is located in the bar and party area Kololo which makes it a noisy place at some nights. It has a very good Italian restaurant.
It's a one-floor building so that people (workers, gardeners, cooks) were walking during the day in front of my window, looking inside.
The staff doesn't show the level of friendliness I'm used from other hotels in Kampala. My overall impression was surprisingly negative.
Stayed overnight to not be impacted by the curfew, fast and efficient checkin and quiet and comfortable room, shower was excellent and the whole property is beautiful and inviting! Breakfast could have been a little more interesting given the excellent restaurant on premises, but all in all great value for the price! Convenient location for acacia mall and a lot of restaurants.
A very hidden Gem and Sadiq the gentleman who never stops attending to any one was amazing as well as the bartender who quickly grasped my taste of the old-fashioned and did it perfectly to my taste. Absolute tidiness and great old character at the venue.
