Beautiful stay, with 5 minute walk to snorkel and surf beach! Spacious room with beautiful shared spaces and the laundry option was nice to have. A little off the beaten path too which was perfect for my husband and I. 10/10 recommend.

The Big Island retreat offered comfortable accommodations with a well-equipped kitchenette. Self check-in was easy, and the managers were responsive and easy to reach by text. Parking was tight but manageable. The location was convenient, within walking distance of Kahaluʻu Beach Park.

We had a great stay. The staff was very helpful and responsive with recommendations for the island. Location was fantastic near a snorkelling beach. We stayed in the Surfer Room which had a separate bathroom to go through the outside, it wasn’t bad but something to keep in mind. Overall a great stay! A reminder there is no AC.

Great little place tucked away 5 mins from Kahalu'u bay making it a great base for water activities and quieter than the locations downtown. The property was surrounded by lots of trees, plants and local wildlife. Supermarkets were close by with some options for food and the property was well equipped for reheating food or even cooking if needed. parking was offered but we didn't need it. The room was clean and the open air design still kept us cool though we would have some company from lizards and bugs every now and then, it didn't bother us. Great stay and hospitality, would stay here again!

The driveway was rough. Poor condition. No sign with the apartment address visible. No AC which we knew going in. But mid- morning, no brees to keep the room cool. The apartment was locked in behind housing not letting ocean winds to flow in.So you set and sweated or sit infront of a fan to cool down. Kitchenette was small with a lavatory sink bathroom sink to do dishes. Shower & tub water ran to hot or to cold hard to adjust a solid setting. Stairs to climb in you have luggage. TV was terrible, WI-FI TV and prerecorded news channels not live. Moves channels had to be purchased. TV sound was off. Commercials louder than the movie, so you had to adjust volume all the time. Otherwise the place was clean and cosey.

The staff person that we met, AnnaMaria, was excellent. She provided great service, a friendly and welcoming personality, plenty of great advice, and really connected with the patrons of this unique hotel. The person that wrote the description of the BIR is a gifted wordsmith. Everything was accurate and really highlighted the best of the BIR. There are some things that perspective customers should know that aren’t detailed in the BIR description, however. There is minimal privacy due to the type of windows, unless the roller shades were deployed. However, this completely eliminated the nearly nonexistent breeze. We were provided with one small oscillating floor fan, and received another after requesting an additional fan. The absence of A/C was particularly noticeable at night as the heat and humidity were oppressive. The outdoor kitchen was delightful. The apartment sized refrigerator was sufficient for our needs and worked quite well. Keeping the jealousy windows allowed plenty of sound to awaken us each morning, including neighborhood dogs, automobiles, local birds, other customers (lots of coughing), and the sound of flip-flops on the driveway. These are not complaints, just observations. Overall we had a good time.

The location of this retreat is very nice and not far from KOA airport. We arrived the airport at later night but able to check in our room smoothly. Really appreciate the flexibility it offers. The room is clean and full of amenities. Within the retreat, there are club house, laundry place and BBQ place, very cute and well maintained. Thank you for hosting us! .

We had a WONDERFUL stay, rooms were comfortable and super clean!! You cannot see the ocean from the surfer room, but there is a wonderful outdoor kitchen/Lanai just up the stairs where we could see a mildly obstructed view of the ocean. We will def be back!

This was the perfect oasis for our brief stay in Kona. Far enough away from the crowded downtown area but still super close, we love the room, the beach access, and the convenience. Very quiet area, and tastefully decorated and clean. We would definitely stay here again!
