"I was desperate to love this place. How cool to be able to stay in something like that? First, there was an issue with my reservation. So the owner wasn't really prepared for us. It looks like they are in full construction mode so the area wasn't as neat as could be. His workers had music playing next to our dome, but he addressed it when we texted. There should be a curtain for the door. We make a makeshift one. The tv was missing the remote. The owner addressed it quickly. Unfortunately...

"We had booked in to the Baddeck Domes for our stay but they were not finished being built. This was very disappointing for us. The owner made it right by giving us a full refund for the Domes. We then stayed in the Baddeck motel. The room was tiny, there was mold on the curtains, but the beds were clean and comfortable enough. It looks like they may be doing some renovations on the motel. The staff was the best part of the stay. "

"Towel was old and yellowish. Property shows its age. Most restaurants in the area were closed. Not much to see and do within the area."

"An older motel a block away from the waterfront and a short drive to the Graham Bell Museum. Besides not being totally cleaned, (there was a drink ring on the night stand) the plumbing needed attention. The taps seemed to scream and the hot water took a long time to get there. No breakfast was offered this early in the season. There was a restaurant in the hotel across the street."

"Room had remnants of Doritos when we arrived but we cleaned them up and it remained liveable. Paucity of available wall sockets for modern smartphone charging. Paucity of decent TV channels. Beds extremely comfortable. Overall, a lovely location."

"Room wasn’t swept, there were stains on the furniture. Something smelled off and musty, no ventilation in the bathroom. There was a shortage of towels. You can hear other people talking in other rooms clearly when you’re laying down. Won’t be back. Felt gross just being there."

"My husband and I had a wonderful couple of nights at Chanterelle. We stayed in a room in the main building. We loved the peacefulness of the place. It was such a relaxing place to stay. Breakfast was delicious! We booked dinner for the one evening. We were so glad we did. It was an 8 course meal. Every dish was excellent! Would recommend if you’re looking for peace and relaxation and excellent food!"

"Although the front staff were absolutely lovely, the room was not entirely clean. After locating an already used bar of soap in the shower sitting on top of the shampoo and conditioner bottles and hair on the walls, I asked the front desk if housekeeping could go and clean the washroom. They were deeply sorry and said they’d send someone right away. After being out of the room all day I came back to them having been there to “clean” but the bar and hair were still there.
