Great Hotel - easy access by metro to all areas
I LOVED this hotel. I was looking for a budget price - which it was. We arrived, and found our room had a leak with puddle on the floor - straight back to reception - immediate change of room with upgrade!! Room was roomy, clean, anything we needed reception arranged immediately. Bathroom was large, clean, and large shower cubicle with plenty of hot water. Air conditioner worked well to give relief from a day in the heat. Each reception person was nicer and more helpful than the next. Knowledgable in all attractions and transport choices. Communal kitchen area where you could put your food in fridge or freezer, use cooking facilities, sit and eat. It was more of a student type accommodation - but that did not bother me in the least, and I wasn't the only non student. Some of the rooms are shaped in a long rectangle with a bed in one area, and second bed in another area of the room. That would not suit me as I wanted to be with my son in twin beds next to each other - so be aware that some of the rooms don't allow for this. See attached photos

Great hostel and location
This hotel/hostel is really honest about itself. It was exactly what I expected it to be. Staff were friendly, the hotel was easy to navigate and our room was huge. Due to it's hostel status and cheap prices it is obviously very basic, but if you just need a base from which to explore the city then it's great. If you are put off by the word hostel then don't be, if we didn't know it was a hostel then we wouldn't have guessed. There were people of all ages staying here. There was only 2 of us but our room had 3 beds to choose from. Our bathroom was a good size. What I would say is if you are travelling at this time of year then take some clothes to wrap up in at night as we got a bit cold in bed. There is also a street nearby with loads of restaurants on, and if you walk to the bottom of it then you reach a square with more restaurants in it. We spent all of our nights on this street eating and drinking in different places.To get here head left out of reception, take the first left down the road past the supermarket (there are 2 next to the hotel which is handy) and then turn right at the end of that road and you are on the road with all of the restaurants. Gracia is a lovely neighbourhood. Not too central but not too far out either. The hotel is literally a 3/4 minute walk from Lesseps metro st

Good area, tired hotel.
We booked into this hotel when there were limited options available in Barcelona at the time. This hotel was extremely overpriced for what we got. The room was small with no facilities like kettle or fridge. The bathroom had damage from a water leak and the room door was also sticking from water damage. The breakfast was modest for 5 euro. I think you could defiantly get better value if you didn't book last minute. This was the most expensive accomodation during our trip and the worst.

Affordable place to sleep for visitors on the go
I spent 5 nights at this hotel in a small room with a double bed. I spent most of my time there on the terrace which was relaxing. The spring mattress was comfortable enough for my needs. I was on the go often and would recommend this place to younger tourists who don't need an uber comfortable amenity-filled place to stay.

Well run residence in the center of Barcelona
Actually a student residence but run like a hotel. Lots of tourist of all ages staying there. Relatively quiet for a residence. Efficient, friendly and helpful staff. Free WiFi everywhere in the structure. Good 5 Euro buffet breakfast available. They can book admission to attractions/excurions on premises

Staff is very helpful, there is a kitchen and large patios on the ground level and 3rd floor. Room is comfortable and clean. Perfect location in Gracia. Very good wi-fi. We stayed 2 weeks this year and we´ll definitely stay there next time we´re in BCN.

The facilities were not the greatest but it was a comfortable stay in an accessible location. I got an upgrade for a larger room and it was nice. I would visit again if possible.

Ideal location and great value for money
Travelling to Barcelona on my own, I wanted somewhere safe, close to amenities and clean. This hotel definitely ticked all of the boxes. I was very grateful for the free upgrade on my room when I arrived, with a huge balcony. The staff were very friendly and were always around to answer my questions. The room and bathroom were always clean! The décor was a bit worn but I was rarely there, so didn't bother me. The bed comfortable and the bedding clean and fresh. Great value for money and I would gladly stay again and recommend to friends.

It's not a fancy place, but when you're in Barcelona, you don't stay in your room for long. There is air conditioning, a private bathroom, and a shared kitchen to make meals if you're on a budget.

Overall, good experience. Downside: beds had wheels on their legs & kept moving with any movement on the beds. Toilet didn't have the basics - toothpaste, slippers, shampoo. No phones in the rooms to call the reception. I was informed by the staff that it wasn't a 'hotel' but a nicer 'hostel'. Positives: Rush free area; close to subway/bus stop; decent price; helpful/courteous staff; nice kitchen; good air conditioning.

Great staying for the money.
The hotel is at an excellent location, walking distance to metro station, ATMs, safe neighborhood, pleasant staff most of the time. Very good experience, I would recommend it to anyone. Breakfast was great.

Near metro station
This is a decent place to stay because it's: near the metro, safe, and the neighbourhood is beautiful. Our beds were basically cots and the shower was very small. At check-in, front desk staff was not very friendly. Overall, this was a decent choice because we were out all day and only came back to sleep at the hotel. It's nice to be close to a metro station and not be located in a very crowded or unsafe area.

Three days trip to Barcelona on my own
Very well located hotel, particularly if you plan to visit Park Guell and Gracia, which is great for late dining and drinking, but also less than 5 mins from Lesseps Metro station (couple of stops from Passeig de Gràcia Plaça Catalunya, Liceu/Rambles in the same line). Friendly and welcoming staff. Basic facilities but very clean and outstanding value in Barcelona. All my friends could not believe the price, including the one who actually saw the room. Also, my room was booked only for myself, but it had four single beds, so definitely a good idea for groups-families who would rather be able to share a room.

Very good place!
Great place, better than many hotels. Lady at the reception very good. Only thing I didn't like was there is not shower gel or champu in the bathroom. Incredible place at a very good price!

We booked last minute and this allegedly was the last room available at this hotel so expectations weren't high.The hotel was tidy and clean, very basic and the staff very helpful. Our room was clean and tidy if very tired. En suite shower room clean but shower minuscule! On turning in the shower you turned the water off and we aren't large people. Overall we feel we paid a lot for the room with extra for breakfast, but under other circumstances we may have had a better room. Would stay again but would want better room.

I had a good experience at this hotel. Not only was the room clean, but it was located about 300 meters form the metro. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The only about the room were the beds, which came with two twins pushed together. Don't get me wrong those twins were comfortable but I would have enjoyed a double better. The staff were also on point, they checked me in and told me directions in a matter of minutes; very fast. the hotel is also about 100 meters from a grocery store where you can find almost anything ( huge selection of wine and spirits). I would recommend this hotel to people coming to Barcelona and I would come back also.

Miserable stay
I disregarded some of the negative reviews and had huge regret. Con: 1. The sheets smell like mold. I am not exaggerating or joking. They don't seem to wash their sheets for new guests everytime. I had to use the towels and the winter blanket to cover the stench of the stinky sheets. 2. The walls are extremely thin. The problem is because students live there throughout the whole night doors slam and you wake up due to that. 3. There are no door hangers to let the housekeeping know not to bother you. I never got to sleep in. 4. The female staff should know how to smile and be more helpful and polite. 5. I killed ants and silver bugs in my room. It was so uncomfortable I decided to leave early. Of course I did not receive or expect to receive any refund for the days I did not stay. This negative experience made me realized that maybe it's my fault that I decided to stay at a hostal. Never would I make that mistake because of the chance that I would get another Hostal like this one.

Most horrible stay in Spain
Our stay at Residencia Erasmus Gracia was extremely disappointing and horrible. The room they gave us was definitely "not as advertised". We had booked a small but bright room with 2 single beds, a balcony, and a private bathroom. Basically a nice, comfortable room that my Mom found acceptable to book from what she saw on the internet. Instead, we were put into a basement room that was half below street level. The room had 4 single beds, and a bathroom. 2 of the beds were obviously dirty, and one still had food crumbs all over the bed covers. My Mom still has insect bites from sleeping on their bed. The floor tiles were so dirty that the soles of our slippers went black with dirt and hair. We had to ask for towels from reception, as there was only one towel on top of the toilet lid. The sink in the bathroom was so backed up that even just washing our hands flooded the sink quickly. The absolute worst part was the standing shower. It had glass panels on three sides (plus the wall) that were not sealed properly, and moved outwards when slightly touched. The floor of the shower was basically the floor of the bathroom, so it was not raised up off the floor. The shower's water drainage was also badly backed up, and the water did not drain at all during your shower. We had to stop the shower many times to let some water drain. Even then, the water still flooded into our room, and then out into the hallway. We'd like to share further details and photos, contact us.

Bargain in Barcelona!
Had a great eight days there. I went to work at my computer during a week between two different trips in Europe and was very pleasantly surprised, even after reading good reviews about the hotel. Hotel is very close to a metro stop--much closer than the map had me believe--and it was a great neighborhood to simply walk in. It wasn't a tourist area so store prices including the grocery stores were very reasonably priced and I could take advantage of the kitchen at the hotel to make my own simple lunches and dinners for most of my stay. Staff at check-in and during my stay were all friendly and very helpful. I would stay there again without hesitation.

The Residencia Erasmus Garcia is in a great location for students, especially. There are lots of restaurants, bars and grocery stores within walking distance, and the Metro is very convenient. What is disappointing, is that there is no internet in the rooms, only in the common areas.

Quiet room, very clean, pleasant staff , ready to answer questions. If you enjoy a firm mattress you will have no problems. Only thng I would not recommend is the breakfast, go elswhere, as the coffee is awful and the egg rubbery.

Well-located in the boho neighbourhood of Gracia, the hotel was vey basic but clean. We had a double room with en suite shower and toilet. All perfectly adequate for the price. The guest kitchen was very useful.

The hotel is situated a few minutes stroll (no more than 5 - 10 minutes) from the Metro underground service which allows access to most of Barcelona attractions; Nou Camp to the waterfront. Slight intrusion of night noise from main street. Room was kept clean and tidy. Breakfast was adequate offering either hot or cold options. Only about 20 - 30 minutes from Park Guell

close to passeig de gracia which i found offered more authentic food and bars than the beach/tourist areas. hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful. not a walking distance to the beach if thats your thing but it has a metro nearby and i didnt find commuting anywhere within barcelona painful or long.

Adequate Accommodations in a Great Neighborhood
The Erasmus is a cross between a hostel and a hotel, with common kitchen and TV room available for guests' use. Most guests seem to be college-aged groups or budget-minded families. The rooms were as simple as simple could be: twin beds with clean sheets and worn bedspreads (made up daily), and a rough wool blanket if it got cool. Internet in the rooms was sporadic, but signal was fine in the lobby. Guests had access to small safes off the lobby for valuables. The common terrace area on the third floor was pleasant. The housekeeping staff kept the rooms very clean. Unfortunately, most of the front desk staff acted more like civil servants (think Registry of Motor Vehicles clerks) than hospitality professionals. But overall, it suited our budget and was conveniently located a short walk from the Lesseps metro station.

Second time I stayed here and the first time was good. So...I booked again paying double the price than last time and I will not be returning. I think your stay here will depend on which room you get given as my room second time was not nice. Very small, in the worst part of the Hotel. The shower was a joke.... Really small and not practical, water flooding everywhere with a bad smell. Stains on the walls. Like I said, it's 50/50 as to wither you will have an enjoyable experience here. If you go ahead and book then good luck!
