First off I have stayed in multiple hotels across the US and this is one of the worst!! The front desk was completely rude, she didn’t let me know that my room was changed to something completely different. I got a queen handicap room instead of a king standard which made the shower very uncomfortable for a 6ft man seeing as it was lowered and the bed was too small for me and my pregnant wife. Then once in the room it smelled like it had not been clean and had mold on the roof above the shower and the window seal, and stains on the bed; overall the room was terrible… then once I checked out I spoke with the new front desk and she was rude as well and showed me her computer where it stated the reservation was changed by Wyndham and the room was marked as dirty; i would not recommend to anyone.

We were disappointed in this property. The room was clean. However, the door didn't close properly and had to be sure it closed every time. The worst was they had no darkening curtains. Just white transparent blinds. Let the bright lights in at night and bright first thing in the morning.

I did take pictures if you need them. The only accurate pictures when you Google this hotel are of the dining area where the breakfast is served. The room I stayed in was horrible. The building had such an awful smell that my entire suitcase reeked after I got home a week later and this was even AFTER I changed hotels to the Doubletree. The air conditioner was leaking all over the floor, the toilet I had to manually reach into the tank to get it to flush and the carpet/chair was so disgusting that I wouldn’t walk around without shoes on or sit in the chair. I was barely in this room before changing because I was dealing with the death of my father. Otherwise I would’ve immediately checked out after seeing the room and smelling the awful scent they were pumping into the hotel to cover up the mold and mildew smell. I think the AC was broken downstairs. They had the lobby doors propped open during a heatwave for air flow.

The front lobby was ok when we walked in. Got in the elevator and it was really dirty. Our room was just ok. the bathroom sink faucet was loose and the tub faucet was also loose. Couldnt get in our room. went down twice for help and they finally came up to help. Will never stay again.

Smoke detector was not connected and the wires were hanging out of the wall. Deadbolt on the door was not working. Hallway carpet was vey dirty. Tiled rooms hand dirt piled up in the corners. Dining area not clean. Very different than it was a couple of years ago.

The hotel was in very bad shape in the lobby and I was hopeful the room would be decent. Unfortunately the room was the worst I have ever seen. The bed had stains on it, the room was dirty and it was so bad I ended up leaving the hotel and booked down the street. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel at all costs.

Since most bad reviews tend to be exaggerated to extract something out of the hotel, I took a few days to really consider my thoughts with this hotel. With time passing and with a clear conscious, I can say without any hesitation, this is the worst hotel I've ever come across. I have stayed at budget and non-budget friendly properties over my lifetime, but rarely has any property been so destitute, unsafe, and unclean as The Wyngate by Wyndham in Hattiesburg, MS. Truly. I booked based on some reviews and online pictures, both of which are entirely false, and arrived to check-in while passing through the parking lot full of people drinking, playing loud music and what looked like illegal loitering. Putting that aside, I went inside and couldn't believe how run-down and unclean it was. Hoping the room might be different, I took the elevator which in and of itself looked like a crime scene which gashes, floor trash and spill stains to the room. The hallway had trash on the floor and stained carpets and a terrible scent. Not the usual chemical cleaning scent accompanying hotels, but body odor and alcohol. I then opened the room door and it was just squalid. A similar bad scent resided and although it looked like housekeeping had tried to turn over the room, it wasn't salvageable. The bathroom, main walls, carpet and sheets all had stains and looked very unhygienic. Lasting 60 seconds, I went back to lobby for assistance but the attendant wasn't there. I left.

Our stay wasn't terrible, but the property is in need of significant maintenance and a much higher standard of cleanliness. The bathroom toilet wasn't securely attached to the floor, and it appeared that several repairs had been started but never completed, including sections of the ceiling. The cabinet intended to house the refrigerator was broken, so the refrigerator didn't fit inside and was simply sitting on top. None of the drawers in the room were usable, making it inconvenient to store our belongings. The overall condition of the property was disappointing. There were bags of trash sitting in the hallways throughout our stay, and the common areas appeared to be neglected—they didn't look like they had been vacuumed or mopped in quite some time. Overall, the property felt dirty and poorly maintained. On a positive note, the woman at the front desk during check-in was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Her excellent customer service was the highlight of our stay. While the staff made a positive impression, the condition of the property fell well below expectations. If I return to Hattiesburg, I will likely choose different accommodations.

The room was discussing was not clean at all, the ceiling is leaking water with electrical wires hanging out the ceiling, the floor in the wall way of the room was so sticky your shoes stuck to the floor, there is mold growing on the ceiling they charge you 50 dollar incidental fee when they should pay someone to stay there. The property should be condemned! The pictures on the internet are definitely not what you will get at this hotel! We paid for 2 nights left after one and still got charged for two nights and two 50 dollar incidental fees. The manager could care less

it was terrible, stains on the chair in the room, toilet running, wall paper under sink torn, maintenance room door was open for the 2 days we were there it was absolutely very dirty and nasty, the carpet smell was bad, there was an extra pull down shade left on the window seal--it was dirty with alot of hair stuck on it, there was a big bag of trash in the lobby area for the 2 days we were there, and finally there was an argument between 2 employees both speaking foreign languages IN THE LOBBY------if this is not enough to give a horrible rating, there are were are some other things but this should be enough and I intend to address this with Wingate hotels.

As a Wyndham Diamond member, I expect a certain level of customer service, and unfortunately, this property fell well short of those expectations. My first impression was with Prea, the front desk clerk who checked me in. The check-in process was very impersonal and unhelpful. She took my ID, handed me a registration form to sign, and then gave me my room key without even telling me my room number or explaining where my room was located or how to get there. She also failed to provide any information about the hotel's amenities, breakfast, Wi-Fi, or anything else that would have made my stay more comfortable. The following morning, I came downstairs about an hour after breakfast had ended and simply asked if there was any coffee available. Before I could even finish my question, she abruptly cut me off and said, "Breakfast is over already." There was no attempt to be helpful or offer an alternative—just a rude and dismissive response. To be fair, the room itself was clean, comfortable, and decent, with no complaints there. The other highlight of my stay was the breakfast. It was excellent, with a wide variety of hot breakfast options that felt more like a sit-down meal than the typical continental breakfast. The quality and selection were impressive and were easily the best part of my stay. Unfortunately, a clean room and great breakfast cannot make up for poor customer service. The front desk is the face of the hotel, and the lack of professionalism and basic hospitality

The staff were great, no complaints there! The room was not too bad, the sheets looked clean, the bathroom was pretty clean except for the vent on the ceiling it was covered in dust and dirt. The hallways were not very clean and smelled bad. There was a chirping fire alarm in our hallway. The stairs were really gross and so was the elevator. Stairs and elevator needed a good cleaning and they smelled bad.

From the moment we walked into the lobby we could smell the mold. The room was nothing like the pictures. The bed weren't the right size, the shower doesn't drain, there was what looked like dog poop on the floor in our room, the ac was broken. I can keep going. Would not recommend. Checked in once stepping off the elevator, our room was directly across from it. It was annoying to hear people all night & earlier morning talking loudly by our door waking us up. Didn't get sleep. Going into our room it was a roach on the wall, pulled back the covers small bug, while everyone rushed to the bathroom after a 6 hr drive the toilet stomp up, no cord to the phone to call downstairs. Went downstairs (beyond tired) it was 3 ladies that were VERY HELPFUL & attended to my needs right away. One came up & she changed my linen on the bed, gave a new plunger & explained maintenance will come in the morning. The elevator cleanliness was as if I was in a New York elevator, just nasty. That night I took a shower but the water wouldn't go down the drain, so 3 people couldn't take a shower. Went downstairs to speak with night front desk clerk to report it. She noted it & told me she will let mgt know. Went down at 9am, spoke with mgt, they had no care or wasn't apologetic of what was going on with my room as I explained. Both looked lost & have no clue with manging a hotel. Maintenance came & he was so genuinely sympathy and explained the phone situation along with fixing the drain problem in the tub. If MGT would be transparent, show sympathy, accommodate & be apologetic with guest then this would never gotten a poor star due to the staff (only). The FRONT STAFF & Maintenance needs to be Management cause the man & woman of Indian descendant dont know what the hack they doin

It wasn’t horrible but it definitely wasn’t like the picture. It was run down and the door to our hotel room didn’t even lock. We used things to block the door. The knobs in the rr were falling off. The shower was spraying super hard and tile wasn’t even properly installed from the floor to the tub. The shower lining of the tub to the ceiling where it connects, had mold. The beds were comfortable and the food was good. The beds seemed very clean. The building itself is chipped paint and scratches all over like it’s not well kept. But all in all, it was okay.

Staff was nice and the breakfast was good and beds were clean. My only complaint is there was mold and mildew bad in the bathroom on the ceiling and on the black out blinds on the window had mold and mildew bad.

When I arrived to the hotel my key card did not work for the room. When I got the key card fixed the door would not open as it was locked from the inside so I was moved to a different room. When I walked into that room it smelled of mildew and the blinds had mold on them and when I went to take a picture of the mold my sock got soaked as the carpet was soaking wet due to a crack in the window and the window being double paned was halfway filled up with water. I was moved to my third and final room which had no towels so we went back down to the lobby for the fourth time and the front staff lady was very helpful. She was very overwhelmed. The phone in the room did not dial to the front desk. It would just continue to ring my daughter's bed smelled of perfume as if someone had laid in it, but overall the bed was clean. The carpet next to the bed had a bunched up aluminum foil as if someone had eaten a burrito and thrown their trash on the floor. The breakfast was pretty good. The orange juice machine did not work. Right there was a possible substance on the wall and lamp that looked to be either rust or blood but could not be determined and the pool was unable to be used due to it being so green you couldn't even see the steps leading down into the pool. I would never stay here again. I should have just paid the extra $50 and stayed at the hotel across the street
