"Cannot say enough good things about our stay at Pearl House. Both hosts were amazingly welcoming and made us feel right at home by giving us recommendations and tips for getting around. Property may feel long away from the centre but they advised a short cut that made the walk only 10 minutes. Also, the room had AC and a fan which was ideal after hiking all day. Will definitely stay again if visiting Kandy."

Quality of hotel quite basic but good given the budget price, didn’t have any food so can’t comment on this. Would go back again especially if wanting a more budget option in Kandy. "

"Dejlig og venlig vært/ejer, værelse med smuk udsigt over flod og skov, endnu bedre fra restaurant øverst. Minimalistisk morgenmad, men helt ok. Det eneste minis var at der efter strømafbrydelse ikke blev tændt for relæ på vores etage, så der gik ca 2 timer inden vi fik ventilation igen!"

"Der blev afholdt 2 store arrangementer samme dag. Det betød at vi blev vækket med høj musik allerede kl. 7.00. Da der skulle afholdes bryllup ventede vi 1 time på morgenmaden. Det viste sig at der også skulle holdes fødselsdag om aftenen - så der var høj musik til 23.15. Der blev ikke gjort rent på værelset mens vi var der, og der var ikke wifi på værelserne som der er angivet. "

"Property is not found at 53 Riverside Road, Matale. Given phone is switched off but he answered on the previous day and asked us to come. According to him weather was ok but weather was terreble and came back home because no place to stay at the night. I had to block my card as well. The worst experience I have ever had. "Upgraded to their new hotel which was very good, excellent swimming pool though hand rails would help. Annoyingly, for a brand new hotel, you had out of bed to turn the lights off! Grounds beautifully maintained. Food fine. A pleasant ambience for relaxing. Across the road from the Elephant Orphanage. Close to other Elephant Charities and the Elephant Poo Paper factory which was an interesting visit."

"Days Inn is located at the top of a hill which means great views but a long walk up! Our bedroom had a little balcony which was nice and the room was clean. Our bathroom had an open drain and did not smell great which was a downside. The breakfast was fresh fruit and eggs with toast each morning which was well prepared, however we were hoping for more traditional style breakfasts! "
