Staff super friendly. Laundry cheap and fast. Luggage storage. After we checked out we went kayaking and when we returned to collect our bags we were offered a room and towels to get showers and changed. Excellent service. Thank you.

Strategic location, nicest staff and good vegan restaurant. Perfect for our family and our trip… we even got very useful recommendations about where to eat and what to do in Ninh Binh, which was our next stop! Bonus: our kids spent nice times playing with Tom & Jerry, the 2 adorable kitten!

Beds were very comfortable, and room was clean. Bathroom tiles could use a deep cleaning around the shower area though. It is a little uphill from the Main Street. Maybe a 5 minute walk so not too bad at all. There are restaurants all around so plenty of options to eat. Very nice staff. Breakfast was ok, fruits, a lot of bread based items and option of scrambled or fried eggs.

Nice room with some small improvements that could be made. Shower head didn't fit in the holder. Door was hard to close. Provided slippers could have been cleaner. Otherwise, staff let us check in early for free, room was comfortable and clean.

The Green Hotel is a great place to stay! Dinh, the receptionist is lovely and has some nice tour options for reasonable prices. I would be happy to stay there again.

Amazing hotel

Amazing stay here! So close to everything we always walked everywhere. The vegetarian restaurant downstairs was really good as well. Free water in lobby and extremely friendly staff that helped us book boat tour and helped us with ferries and anything we needed. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and lots of options

Cat Ba Green hotel was amazing value for money! The rooms were clean and spacious, and we really enjoyed the breakfast of fruit, pancakes and eggs every day. It's slightly away from the main road, which is lovely as it's quieter in the evenings, but you can walk to all the restaurants in just a few minutes. The owner of the hotel was extremely helpful with booking excursions/transfers etc. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The most hospitable hotel on Cat Ba

I absolutely loved staying here! The owner was so friendly and helped us out with anything we needed. She booked our excursions and even had people teach us how to drive motor scooters before we took off around the island. The breakfast each morning was sooo good, we were obsessed with the Vietnamese style crepes and made to order eggs. There is even a vegan restaurant downstairs that was delicious, we kept going back. If I am ever back on Cat Ba Island I will make sure to stay here again!

The hotel was well situated but still in a quiet area. It was clean and very stocked on amenities but the best part was the service. We booked a boat tour and our travel back to Hanoi with the hotel which was seemless. We also got laundry washed and the breakfast everyday was delicious and filling. Couldn’t recommend more!

The service was good and the location was great. Unfortunately the bathroom was very dirty, the breakfast was disappointing and the air conditioning needed a long time to cool the room. I would not return to this hotel.

Budget hotel with some problems

This is a three star review for a two night stay. Room: Had two queen beds that were incredibly hard and bound in pleather instead of normal mattress material. We know the standard in Vietnam is hard, but this was surprising. The AC in the room works well but takes a very long time to cool the room from its hot summer state. There is a safe in the room but the front desk states they do not have the physical key to give to us. Given this is such an easy fix, we were surprised they did not consider investing in this common feature and having a key made. There is also no do not disturb sign which would would have used to limit entry into a safeless room. Wifi is acceptable (11mbps download when I checked). Fridge in the room and two mini bottles of water per day left in room (recommendation to put them in the fridge in the future). Hair dryer and decent toiletries provided in good quantity. Drawers in room about to fall off wall but has a functioning wardrobe. Breakfast: highlight of the property with fresh guava and pineapple juice, crepes, toast, bananas, passion fruits, and over easy eggs. Jam may contain traces of fruit. Coffee was just ok with only milk to add (recommendation to serve condensed milk as most local hotels do). Area: I really cannot recommend Cat Ba to anyone except those taking a cruise. Accessibility: step to get into shower, elevator not working to get down to ground floor but can go up from it. Value: Low for Vietnam but at par for Catba
