Wonderful experience for our overnight stay. We were in Guerneville to see the Armstrong Woods. Our cabin was surrounded by large redwoods and the resort was immaculate. Well landscaped and quiet. Breakfast was served outside beside a nice fire pit. Staff was friendly and professional. I highly recommend this resort.

A wow!

This place is a beautiful retreat. Kathy at the front desk was very kind and welcoming. I will return! I loved morning breakfast at the fire pit. The pool was very nice. We met the owner at her restaurant Boon eatery which I highly recommend! The was my first time to Guerneville and it was very memorable.

Highlands Resort is lovely and warm. This was our second stay there and it's just perfect. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are warm and comfortable and the property makes you feel like you are secluded. We will definitely be back.

Serenity surrounded by redwoods

Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and perfectly maintained. It’s very peaceful. The grounds are groomed, but feel very natural.

Perfect for a couple of nights in Russian River

We really enjoyed our stay in one of the cabins at Highlands resort. It was at the tail end of a long road trip and it was probably our favorite stay of the entire trip. The overall setup is just enough for city slickers like us to feel like we're a tad off the beaten path without sacrificing any creature comforts. You basically get all of the amenities of a hotel room in a setting that seems to encourage you to disconnect and unplug. It's super quiet and the fresh air is conducive to a good night's sleep. At the same time, the location is walking distance to the main Guerneville strip and a straight shot from the Armstrong Redwoods Nature preserve - basically the ideal location for staying in Russian River. No complaints with any of the small stuff, either - getting in and out is easy, breakfast is great and fit for purpose, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

My partner Mick and I stayed here at the end of March, and honestly—don’t even waste time looking at other places in Guerneville. This resort is an absolute 5-star gem! From the moment we stepped out of the car, we knew we were somewhere special. The landscaping is lush and beautifully maintained, the cabins are charming and spotless, and the pool and main resort area are pristine and inviting. Although it’s right in town, the property feels incredibly peaceful and secluded—just a short stroll to everything, yet it feels like a private oasis. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated to create a truly relaxing escape. Huge shoutout to our incredible hosts, Cathy, Julie, and Ashley—your warmth and hospitality made our stay even more memorable. We’re already dreaming about our next visit!

Review for Highlands Resort – Adults Only I had a lovely and relaxing stay at Highlands Resort. The setting is peaceful, the grounds are well-maintained, and the atmosphere is perfect for a quiet getaway. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The only issue I experienced was with the Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, I was never able to connect from the cabin I was assigned, even after reporting the problem and being told the router had been reset. It wasn’t a major deal for a short retreat, but it’s something to be aware of if you need a reliable connection during your stay. Overall, I’d definitely return for the serenity and charm—just hoping the Wi-Fi is more consistent next time!

Beautiful adult only spot in the redwoods and stone’s throw from downtown Guerneville. Cabins could be plusher… tidy and spartan. Had a very cozy bed and unit #10 had lots of windows with lady views — felt like we were in a treehouse! No full length mirror though in the room!? Could easily be added. Some of us need a mirror! No brochures of any kind with local info, Staff pleasant. Continental brekky needs a lot of work. Barely qualifies as breakfast. Fine for a night or two.
