We have stayed at the Hotel San Carlos many times over the last 15 years and will continue to do so. It is convenient, pristine, with great service. They offer excellent service to and from the airport, provided arrangements are made in advance. The rooms vary in size but all are comfortable. The restaurant offers (usually) a buffet breakfast; when it doesn't, one can order from the menu.

San Carlos is a nice, clean, quiet hotel. Security is good. Facilites are clean. Staff is helpful. If you are looking for privacy and quietness. This is your hotel if you like to stay in a place where it feels like a big house But it is very dated. It is not Barcelo o Wyndham. The gym is not really a gym. Need an upgrade. I feel the advertising for the hotel was not accurate. Food is ok. Not memorable. The bar is lacking in selection and variety. Location is great, close to everything but be prepared for Guatemalan traffic which is not a joke. All that say, due to the privacy, quietness and location I would stay again but the gym needs to be better.

Besutiful hotel! We didnt get the room we had reserved originally to fit a family of 5 due to maintenance issues so they gave us 2 rooms, but they were perfectly located right in front of each other. The entire hotel and rooms were very clean. It could use some fresh paint but other than that it met our needs and more. The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful. They answered all our questions even before we arrived. We felt very safe especially with the security gate and security man located at the entrance. It was located close to a great steak house called Estancia that everyone recommended. It was just 5 min walking distance from the hotel. We had breakfast the next day and the service was great and food was hot and delicious ! We were very happy with our stay!

The staff was wonderful. They made sure we had what we needed and went above and beyond to help us secure transportation. The facility was clean. The apartment we stayed in was spacious but needed a few updates. The pool was too cold to enjoy. Overall I would recommend this hotel because the staff made it everything.
