Small, but great! We stayed at the hotel for three nights during a short December trip to Groningen. The room was small but nice — and the same goes for the fitness centre, the breakfast buffet, and not least the hotel’s private parking garage: all of it small, but perfectly adequate. However, if you’re arriving by car, I would recommend using a public parking garage instead, as the entrance to the hotel’s own garage is very narrow. On the other hand, the hotel’s location is excellent — right in the city centre, within easy walking distance of everything Groningen has to offer. In addition, the staff are very friendly, kind, and helpful. All in all: small, but really good!

Awesome breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, and rooms were quite nice. You feel like each room is a little different and gives you the loft apartment "feel" I would recommend staying at the City Hotel Groningen, lots to do within walking distance.

I slept very well in a quiet room with a comfortable single bed. The room was small, but I wasn’t intending to spend any time there other than to sleep. The shower was nice and hot and breakfast excellent.

Great bath tub with jacuzzi

We found the room dark and oppressive with poor internal room lighting, black decoration and very little sun light sie to „designer“ windows rather than actually functional windows. However, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bath tub great.
