Charming Dar in the heart of the Medina. Parking is fairly easy (5-10 minute walk from closest parking lot just outside of the Medina. Owner also sent someone to guide us from the Medina door to the Dar.
Breakfast was good, room was charming and clean. We did not have hot water when we wanted to have a shower, and that was disappointing. This may have been an exceptionnel problem. We were rushed so did not ask the owner about getting hot water.
Great place to stay and even better hosts. Really looked after us and gave us their tips on what to do. One example was we had bought fish at the port to cook at a local restaurant. We didn't know where so he walked us to one he recommended and had a great meal, plus didn't get ripped off!
This was our second time a Dar Rahaothello. This trip we stayed at 7 other Riads in Morocco; many were equally attractive in decor, but none matched the service we received from Nezha. We find the town very relaxed, and again we had a superb meal cooked by Nezha (3 fish courses and an apple crumble). We feel at home!
Staff were great and very helpful. Lacation is good and it is an interesting building. Took us two days to find the rooftop patio! Rates were reasonable and Nasir makes a great breakfast. We didn't try dinner but heard it was excellent.
Not too inspiring from the outside, right in the middle of the souk, nor on first impressions as you walk in the door, BUT once you acclimatise to it all becomes very pleasing. The room was spacious with a 3 seater padded bench and coffee table, the bed was very comfortable and the best we have had in Morocco. The shower had oodles of hot water if not particular powerful, Breakfast was plentiful, with freshly squeezed orange and plenty of coffee and fresh bread/pancakes/eggs. We had one evening meal and that was perfect, the equal to any we had anywhere else. Nezha, the manager and the other staff were very helpful and friendly. The only disappointment was the roof terrace, the chairs were old and past it, the sunbed mattresses were the same and looking at some of the pictures on Expedia, you would think it was a different place, the paint was a different colour and the terrace cushions were nothing like reality. Having said all that, I would stay here again, it was quiet, the only noises we heard were the seagulls.
Don't be put off by the little tunnel you walk through to get to the Riad. Once inside Nezha and the rest of the staff make you feel very welcome. I was travelling alone and the only Brit staying when I was there, but I was made very welcome. Would definitely stay here again. Ideally placed within the Medina.
