The staff members went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. The breakfast was delicious with many options. The menu options were nice and affordable. Every room service staff spoke clear english and reception always responded quickly. I like how the rooms have AC and a ceiling fan. The backup generator worked great during city wide power outages. There was an issue with critters but if you don't bring food into your room you should be fine. Peace

If you know dar, this place is great. A newbie will be lost. This property actually had roaches. They offer to spray the room. I went to buy mosquito spray as I know that mosquitoes do exist in Tanzania. I was not expecting the other pest however.

Poorly furnished hotel

The shower towels were old, and only one big towel was found in the room. When we asked for more towels, we were given one extra old to use. When we came back to the hotel from touring Dar-es-Salaam shore and asked for more towels to shower because our two towels were still wet, we were told that their towels were unavailable and wet. It is a very poorly furnished hotel.

Helpful Staff

This is a comfortable hotel. It was a little hard to find and not near the bus stand or airports. The staff was kind and really helpful. The receptionist particularly went out of her way to accommodate.

Drunk waitstaff

The front staff were very friendly and the shuttle driver was kind and professional, but the place was dirty with several roaches in the room and the restaurant staff were not helpful, largely because they were drinking alcohol during there shift.

An oasis of peace

Hi, I enjoyed my stay. The Hotel can pick you up from the airport for $15 (much cheaper than official taxi for $35). The food is well cooked and plenty. I can recommend the Avocado salad as starter and Spaghetti Arabiata. The breakfast has a good choice also. The hotel is quiet and with air con you sleep very well. The bathroom was very clean. I also tested the Full Bidy Massage from the Wellness Spa offer and it was very relaxing after a long day in the city center. I will come back!

Nice hotel

My stay was good the room was nice and clean and hotel staff were helpful esp the lady at the reception desk the only issue is breakfast, very limited selection the hotel should improve greatly on that otherwise everything was perfect.

0 star Motel in rundown neighborhood

No idea how this motel made it to hotels.com or even how they managed a 3 star rating. It should not have 1 star by any stretch. This 3 storey structure is located in back roads of run down residential neighborhood with no street lighting at night and does not seem like an area where someone who doesn't know their way around wants to be especially after sundown. Service was poor as it seems to be everywhere in Tanzania - and I'm African and have traveled in Africa. They provided wifi but could not have been anything more than 1KBPs even on rare occasions when it worked.

Nice Hotel in a poor locality away from city

Its a good hotel for a short stay. Only concern is the location. If you have a person who can drop and pick you from the hotel then its no problem at all. Though in poor area hotel is very safe.

Clean hotel with friendly staff, great price!

Upon arriving in Dar I stayed at Lantana for 4 nights total in my trip. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. There was water, coffee and the linens were very clean. Each day the room was cleaned very well. Breakfast was tasty, and eggs were available upon request. The staff was very friendly, they made suggestions, and didn't treat me lie a mzungu, rather a rafiki. They honored the online price I had paid originally for the remainder of my stay, and allowed me to keep my bags behind the desk on the day of my departure so I could go around town for the day. Everyone was nice and very friendly, I will stay there again bed time in Dar.
