When we arrived they were overbooked. It was 2am and we were forced to share rooms with other group members. They also never cancelled all the reservations so we ended up triple paying in some cases and it's been a lot of work receiving refunds.
Where do I begin. Upon arrival I was told Hotels.com shouldn't have accepted my reservation as they had no rooms. I threatened to call the embassy and that's when they admitted they had a room but it would have been an upgraded room and they tried to charge me for it! The so called upgraded room had a sink leaking dirty water all over bathroom. There was one towel in bathroom and hardly any bathroom supplies. I requested extra towels but they never sent them and when I went down to ask was told they were locked away. The mini fridge required an adapter plug but they didn't have any. Promised to get some next day but still nothing so there was an unusable fridge in room. So called "ho-tel" is really a 1 star motel in red light district next to a club that booms heavy music till dawn Sunday to Sunday. No idea how this hotel got listed on hotels.com. Expedia is doing themselves a disservice by listing this hotel! The staff were openly rude, rolled their eyes and generally went out of their way to be unpleasant it seemed. It was clear they are used to complaints and requests that they never intend to fulfill. Manager was rude and dismissive. Being Kenyan I stupidly assumed that my speaking Swahili would endear me and lead to some pleasantness but it just seemed to make them even more disdainful. Awful experience. Customer service does not exist in TZ but the King D definitely takes it to the next level. They are King of poor service and they seem to relish It.
Rungwe Hotel is a great stay in the heart of Dar es Salaam with great staff and great accommodations. From 24hour restaurant, full breakfast buffet every morning, laundry services, daily housekeeping and a bar & nightclub on-site.
Rungwe Hotel definitely is pure value for your money. With lovely balcony views (great from 6th floor unit) and in walking distance from Mililani Mall and other local attractions by Bolt or Uber, there is never a problem with directions when telling people where you are at or where you are going as everyone knows Rungwe Hotel (Sinza).
*Please note: There are clubs nearby and the possibility of night activity until the early hours heard from your room is a great possibility at this stay. If your are a light sleeper or have trouble falling asleep to pulsating rhythms throughout the night, this may not be the place for you as the location can be a bit active at night.
Suggestions for Rungwe Hotel:
* Please invest in your TV/Cable channel offerings. As of our last visit, only one channel was offered and typically in Swahili.
* Please invest in brewed or craft coffee makers as the hotel is too nice to only offer instant coffee while having 24 hour restaurant services.
* Each unit should have a microwave and iron at the very least. Several times we needed to ask the kitchen to warm up a basic food dish (leftover) and/or to iron a garment and is a bit of a hassle when not wanted to have to leave the room to do so depending on the hour of the day.
Clean and secure rooms & facilities. Rooms were cleaned daily. Fantastic staff who were very responsive to our needs and requests. Location is ideal for those that want to experience Dar as the locals do. Relative close proximity to the Mlimani City Mall. Loads of restaurants serving delicious local fare all a 2k - 3k Bajaji ride away. Bubbling night life.

Awful area to have restful stay. Night clubs in all directions playing music till 6am. Sound thumbs through the building. So nearly no sleep had. Had to move rooms but to no avail. Will be looking for refund but doubt they will be helpful.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
need to train more staff on be fast in case of any Oder example i oder tea at 8a, and they send up stairs at 9.49am,another thing renovation for bath tubs, some room no telephone and only solution to change people from one room to another,,,otherwise the rooms are very cleaned-Thanks
Friendly hotel, but not easy to sleep due to loud music in the local night clubs. If you want to club until 3am and then sleep this is a good place. You need ear plugs if you want to sleep before 3am.
Good bus connections to town which is very cheap.
Clean hotel, friendly staff, great breakfast buffet.
Enjoyed my stay at the hotel, really nice bar with good food, staff were helpful and happy..
I did have to change rooms due to the noise from a bar outside, again no problems.
What I didn't like was there was no room safe but apart from that everything was most enjoyable..
The staff is the best part. E.g. if you need a taxi, they will call one and argue the price. That means, that you pay normal prices and not turist-prices.
If you cannot find your way to the bus, they walk with you there and make sure, that you get on the right bus.
Everything is perfect.

I could say that is a 3 star hotel located near th
The room are clean, with Air Conditioned, small refrigerator and Wi-Fi. The hotel is only 2 km far from a good shopping center and supermarket what is good. The breakfast in my opinion is more for africans, it is not a international breakfast. There was no bread and few fruits. But there was african food like a lunch. There is a night club and you can here the sound all night (this is a negative point).
