This hotel is in the city center, and very convenient to go from one place to another. There is a kiosk selling fresh sugarcane juice very close to this hotel! We were very happy with everything the hotel offered, and highly recommend this hotel. Delicious breakfast too!

STAY AWAY FROM ECONO LODGE DAR ES SALAAM DANGER!!!

VERY BAD area and unsafe. The outside of the hotel looks dilapidated and the road is a back ally like pothole filled dirt road with no safe parking. We saw ALOT of unsavory characters near the hotel and the smell of marijuana was very bad. I would never want to walk this area ESPECIALLY at night! Walking into the hotel it smelled like mold and foul dampness. The desk person was rude and even claimed we did not have a reservation and we did. We just decided not to stay and found another hotel.

It was the lowest reception and correspondence. I made a reservation via Expedia and visited, but I was told they couldn't confirm the reservation. Although they finally prepared a room by issuing a printed reservation form, I was guided to a dirty room like a spare room. I was stabbed by insects such as ticks in my bed, and after a week I still have pain of insect bites in my all body. The last two days they changed to a normal room, but this room was fine. I think there is a problem with the reservation management method and the maintenance of the spare room.
