A great getaway from London!

The farm is amazing and Lucinda is such a great host. We enjoyed the horses, the location where we did a bit of hicking and Lucinda cooks the best English breakfast we have ever had in our year long stay in the UK. My wife and I enjoyed the long conversations after breakfast in a relaxing and friendly place and atmosphere. We are already planning our next trip back to the farm and we will be scheduling more time with the farm horses.

Wonderful location

Private Bathroom Yes, but not on different floors! We thought this would be ensuite We are both in our 70s. Going to the bathroom in the middle of the night was to say the least risky. The advert also mentioned a Queen size bed. Our bed appeared small. Breakfast was excellent. Cleanliness spot on. Pity the owner was away but the lady who served breakfast was extemely pleasant and helpful.

Quirky with brilliant staff

First off the staff were incredible - really friendly and helpful. The accomodation is quite old and quirky but in a good way. It's quite dark inside , full of character , low ceilings and narrow stairs. But delightful. One drawback in it being so old is that bathrooms are not en suite or in the same floor but you do have your own bathroom. Adjoining rooms also means you can hear everything your guests are saying or which radio station they are using. The bed was large and mega comfortable and very clean, there we two small low level windows and a very basic door in the wall as a cupboard to hang clothes. There is a small sitting room and a separate area to make drinks - and a separate kitchen area where you have breakfast - which was brilliant. Wonderful cooked breakfast to order, loads of fruit. Home made jams etc - truly excellent. The farm approach isn't too inviting and it's down winding single track roads a little hard to find although we were contacted a few days before with excellent directions. It's quirky, old fashioned , probably not to everyone's taste and quite expensive for what it is - but proof is in the pudding - I would return !

Fantastic B&B, very comfortable and peaceful.

Excellent location and beautifully decorated farm. Very quiet so a good night sleep guaranteed! Lovely breakfast and very friendly hostess. If you're in Devon or just travelling through, this is a fantastic place to stay! Thank you Lucinda, we'll come again!

Lovely place to stay with the friendliest service

I had a lovely stay at Bowhayes Farm. The room is lovely, and the private living area and kitchen are perfect- I was able to prepare anything I needed to, and the living room with the log stove was perfect to relax in. Lucinda went out of her way to be helpful and to prepare amazing homemade breakfasts and smoothies for me, and to give me hot water bottles to keep me super warm on a cold night. It's a lovely homely place to stay, and as I will be in the area a few times with work I will definitely be looking to stay there again and would recommend Bowhayes to anyone.
