Authentic building and nice Decor.

The roof terrace beautiful ambient with nice Japanese meals. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Handy positions and quiet location.

Great hotel

The staff is super helpful, they would go beyond and more to accommodate the guest. We’ve arrived very late and food was delivered without any hesitation. The room was clean and very spacious, lots of bathroom amenities and beautifully presented toiletries. We have had access to the bamboo garden, which is very nice to stay in the evening. Breakfast is served at high standard, the food selection is good. We have also had lunch and dinner at their restaurant. They are specialising in Japanese cuisine. The meals were great! The atmosphere in entire hotel is superb. Didn’t know what to expect, but after a visit we’re blown away!!!

Older building restored, so understand that. Excellent dining options (non guests came here to eat). Small Roof top pool. Adjacent roof top bar. Zen garden. Room(s) had a long balcony on the bedroom side, and a huge balcony porch on the other. WiFi isnt great (slow) but other than that if you had a stove a person could live here. Its a 1 bedroom apartment basically. Area is upper class it seems, several consulates and ambassadors on this street

This is a unique experience. Not your topical hotel stay. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The place was clean. They have a good Japanese restaurant on site

Missing maintenance

We’ve stayed here for almost 5 years in a row, and sadly this has gone from an absolute gem to a completely different concept. Originally a japanese zen hotel with a roomtop restaurant to match, the hotel has now a different restaurant downstairs and a jewellery store in the middle. This fish pond has diminished and the pool jets or cleaning wasn’t on for the entirety of our stay. Also not the same quality hotel goods as earlier years. The hotel staff is kind and lovely, but the owners have clearly dropped everything that made this hotel wonderful.

V nice property - ideal for a short stay. one of the best Japanese restaurants in town. One thing i found missing in reviews was a nearby party street or pubs which are a local attraction. I would highly recommend to go to park street. its a 20 min walk or a 5-7 min tuk tuk ride. there are several pubs and restaurant on the same street. Italian restaurant over there was one of the best italian i have had and pubs around there were a great place to hang out for late night drinks. Not a V cheap place but decently priced

Sleep is not a luxury!

Room 203 was noisy, you woke up at 6:30 AM to the bread sellers loudspeaker. On Friday and Saturday night locals frequent the resteraunt and the noise makes sleep an impossibility. The staff clean up after they leave is so noisy you cannot sleep till 1:30 AM. Mattress is not hotel quality and the pillows were lumpy. No vegan/vegetarian options for breakfast. Checked out early after 9 nights of poor sleep.
