Lotus 2.0 hotel in Chiang Rai

Beautiful government owned hotel just outside of the city center in Chiang Rai. The hotel sits next to a river and has an amazing huge clean swimming pool.

This was a quiet and well appointed property a little distance out of town. Lovely food at the restaurant and nice views over the river. Staff were very helpful. Nice refreshing pool and gym on site. Good value

This facility is a first rate conference center away from the city with a nice view of the river. The room was like new, as was the entire campus. However, it is not a tourist hotel, it is a conference center.

The bed was horrible. It was like laying on the floor. They said all their beds are like that. The food for free breakfast was cold when it was supposed to be hot. And I think we got our stomach bug from it. The whole facility was over grown, grass coming onto the balconies. Over all not worth the money.

The beds are VERY firm (hard). I slept fine, but this could be a problem for a lot of people, I'd definitely prefer a softer mattress. Our room smelled a bit like sewage, the smell seems to come from the drain pipes in the bathroom. Opening the balcony and front doors airs it out after 10 minutes, but of course the smell returns over the course of the day. Most of the hotel seemed very clean, but the bathroom in our room was not well cleaned, the back of the bathroom door is covered in some sort of mess, there was hair on the shower floor the entire stay. Breakfast was ok, although the omelets were cold. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the dinner was amazing. The rooms are large and the entire place feels very spacious.

Deception

Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits dans l'hôtel et qu'elle déception... En arrivant nous étions ébloui devant la beauté extérieur de l'hôtel ce sera l'unique point positif à notre séjour. Dès notre arrivé dans la chambre nous avons pu voir à quel point elle n était pas propre. Entre les murs et les portes tachés ainsi que les toiles d'araignée un peu partout... Ensuite pendant 3 nuits nous avons eu le plaisir d'entendre tous les soirs l'entièreté des conversations de la chambre à côté. Difficile donc de dormir surtout sur des matelas aussi dur. Sur nos trois semaines en Thaïlande c'est notre pire hôtel je vous encourage à trouver un autre hôtel à Chiang rai car je pense qu'il est possible de trouver largement mieux pour le même prix.

Nous fêtons nos 20 années de mariages et nous avions écris un e-mail a l'hôtel pour les avertir que nous désirons une chambre au calme. Ce qui fût un vrais cauchemars. Des portes en carton, une insonorisation cauchemardesques. Des sonneries sans cesse. Des porte qui claque toute la nuit ainsi que le matin tôt. Une chambre devant la piscines où les enfants jouent dès 08h00. Bref tout sauf de la tranquillité. Nous pensions réserver un hôtel loin de la ville et au calme ce qui ne fut pas le cas du tout. Dès notre arrivée j'ai demandé 2 clés, ont ma fait payer une caution de 200 Bath pour la 2èmes clés c'est juste incroyables. Le personnel n'est absolument pas compétents pour un 4 étoiles. Et ne parle juste à peut prés l'anglais. Nous n'avons reçus aucune explications sur le fonctionnement de l'hôtel. Le seul point positifs c'est que nous avions un grand parking.

Bel hôtel, mais aucune âme. Froid. Lors de notre arrivée, la chambre n'avait même pas de papier toilette. Le lendemain, la chambre avait été faite à moitié (linge pas enlevé), les sanitaires pas faits. Personnel aimable, mais ne parlant qu'à moitié l'anglais. Très déçue.
