We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be speeding through the airport and enjoying Lagg in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight can be as simple as your choice of clothing. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like high heels and sandals are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favourites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will thank you for it.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this from happening. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks can also help.
