If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips for a comfortable start to your time in Koumbia. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you pack the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your priority when selecting what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear with care too, as swelling of the feet and ankles are a common occurrence. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good idea.
- The result of sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers on long-distance flights. But the great news is there are numerous ways to lower your risk of developing it. Stay well hydrated, walk up and down the aisles as much as possible and wear compression socks or tights.
