The views from this charming hotel and breathtaking, and the staff was lovely (Francesco was most helpful) and happy to help make our stay and experience memorable. The location itself is a little removed from restaurants and shops (and a little tricky to access with a car), but the quietude was most welcomed and it was easy enough to hire a car to take us into town

The entire property is unique and secluded among the hilltops. The food was excellent. Prepare for a bit of travel to get to the tourist locations but well worth it. Try the deli down the street for a little charcuterie in the afternoons. Love this hotel!!

This is a beautiful property! Very comfy room and a respite after our busy visit to Rome. It was a bit remote but our tour company came and picked us up and dropped us off with no problem. We would highly recommend!

Beautiful hotel located in a stunning mountain area. Rooms are small but very cosy with a beautiful view. Pool was also very nice surrounded by a gorgeous view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Also get the foot massage!

Beautiful hotel in a serene location

Beautiful hotel, wonderful surroundings. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side for a family of four, but that is to be expected for a hotel that was built in 1821. Free, unlocked WiFi everywhere was very useful since the cell phone reception was spotty, given the location (the hotel is in the mountains but with a quick and easy access to the coast). Also, make sure you have a small car, given how tight the streets are.

Hotel Scapolatiello is everything you want in an authentic Italy visit. Your at the top of the hill and see the beauty from above. The hotel itself is centuries old and has a very unique feel. Would recommend to walk the hotel to see the beauty for yourself. The staff are very friendly and attentive on everything they do and are very prompt with cleaning service daily. You’re only a 10 mins drive down into cava de Tirreni. This hotel and town is a beautiful gem.

Excellent Expierience

It was our 2nd stop of our trip and it was my favourite stop. A true Italian experience. The mountain stay in a little town in the mountains, was fantastic!! The hotel was wonderful with really nice people at the front desk. Very helpful.

Nice surprisce at the end of the road

Charming place in a small village at the top of the hill, almost as a castle. Nice pool and garden. Very narrow street approaching. We tried the local pizzeria down at crossing, this were all the locals meet in the bar, very authentic.

Amazing grounds to stroll or relax, quiet location with great views, excellent food, great staff with a special shout-out to Francheso, who arranged for us to charter a boat and arranged all our transportation around the area. The hotel interior was also nicely decorated in a unique style from in stark contrast from modern generic hotels. Bonus: gelato stand attached to hotel with amazing employee...Lemonchello to go with that Gelato? No problem!

Family trip to southern Italy

This is a beautiful, historic hotel located in an isolated area in the mountains 35 minutes outside of Salerno. Staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was comfortable, but unfortunately for me and my family it was a little too remote for us. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive from Cava de Tirreni and 35-40 minutes from Salerno. I didn’t realize the distance when we booked the hotel. If you’re looking for a location where there are restaurants and shops close by, this might not be the best location. For plans based out of Salerno, transportation is €40 each way. This can get pricey if you’re planning a lot of sightseeing trips and excursions. However, it is a great place to truly get away, unwind, and enjoy expensive views of the hills above Salerno.
