Pictures simply don't do this place justice, such a stunning hotel with an invredible restaurant/bar and some lovely grounds with plenty of roses, cheese plants, and more. Breakfast is amazing and the team is very attentive. Would love to come back

Stayed for a few days at the end of a trip to SA. Staff are great but hotel is run down. You can see at some point this was a great hotel but now the rooms and bathrooms need a refurb. The restaurant is very pretty and the food is fine - not the best and wouldn’t recommend the restaurant for a meal out but for a hotel dinner is fine. We were not able to have a late check out which was disappointing.

My partner and I agree that our stay at Cellars Hohenort will continue to be one of our most memorable hotel experiences. The hotel, grounds, facilities and service are impeccable. We were made to feel like family in a home far away from home. Everyone was so welcoming and attentive. We gave ourselves a week to mull over our experience before offering our review. Time did not alter our impression. Cellars Hohenort can be described as a glimpse of heaven on earth.

Book direct to get your room choice guaranteed
The assignment of my room was questionable. I booked a Luxury room, not the Double room to make sure I was not in the attic rooms with the reduced head clearance. At check-in, the hotel staff assured me that the attic room I was assigned was the Luxury room. When I pointed out the identical rooms on their website and the Hotels.com website identifying the attic rooms as doubles, they informed me that I would have needed to book the room directly to assure I was in the high-ceiling clearance rooms on the lower floors. Overall the hotel property was very nice and we had both Lunch and Dinner on site and enjoyed the experience. The room assignment really irritated me to watch the low ceiling during my stay, and the way the reception handled the issue was dismissive. This was ow season stay and I expect that if they tried to make the situation right, they certainly could have. I feel like I paid for a higher-rate room and was "brushed off" when I tried to address the concern.

We stayed here for 2 nights in November 2022, and had an amazing time, wish we had stayed longer and got time to use the spa. The property has 2 pools both were amazing a little cold to spend much time in when we went. It also has a small gym, but only suitable for cardio or light exercise. The location is very convenient, it was easy to get an Uber to see the penguins, and go out for dinner. The botanical gardens is really close by and easy to get to. The staff were amazing and so helpful, out room was spacious and pretty. The bed was very comfortable, and we got an included bottle of wine and lots of snacks which was useful for our excursions. The hotel has beautiful grounds to walk around in, beautiful flowers, greenery, and a small vineyard. We were lucky enough to see very cute ducklings. There is a restaurant (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and bar in the hotel, the food was very high quality. The hotel is on the banks of the mountains and has great views, ideal if you want to go to Hout bay, Bolder beach, or cape point.

Highly recommend to all travelers—Safe, beautiful!
This hotel is absolutely stunning and the service was out of this world. I went to Cape Town for a medical reason and stayed in this hotel during my recovery. The staff was so nice and thoughtful. They clean your room 2x a day. I had the most delicious food brought right to my room. The grounds are absolutely enchanting. It was a fabulous place to stay and recover from a medical procedure. Highly recommended!!!!

This is a gem of a 5 star hotel. Perfect location, and atmosphere tranquil, and at the same time easy access to Table Mountain National Park walks and Hout Bay. Many historical Wine Farms all around within 10 minutes drive. This hotel easily has the most friendly, professional and best trained staff in the Western Cape - meaning good training and supervision. We will always return here.

Excellent Stay
We recently stayed at The Cellars-Hohenort for four nights. The rooms and grounds are beautiful and cast an excellent setting. The entire staff is incredibly personable and attentive. After our first breakfast, they were able to predict our coffee and tea orders each morning. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the Conservatory as well as the Greenhouse. The food was fantastic across the board (best eggs benedict I have ever had). Greenhouse even exceeds the hype. Highly recommend!
