Charming hotel right near the water. It’s the oldest hotel in Canakkale, but by the French during the Ottoman rule. Incredible customer service. I asked so many questions and they helped me with everything. There was some street noise at night, but that’s probably everywhere

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Des Etrangers - a small unique boutique hotel. The staff are excellent - friendly, helpful, and personable. The daily breakfast is superb. The hotel is located amongst a vibrant restaurant/bar/ shopping area and within walking distance to the local ferry and attractions. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel for a stay. Noise from other venues in the evenings can be an issue but it did not concern us.

A very big problem occurred. I filtered for accommodations with kitchens and selected this room, but it didn't actually have a kitchen. When I checked with the staff, they said that the English version of Expedia doesn't state that. That can't be true, and when we checked together, it was clearly stated that there was a kitchen. The staff called the boss and had him report the whole story. The boss's response was terrible, and in the first place there are no kitchens in the hotel category. Is there such a hotel? I was insulted. Of course there are such facilities, and I told them that it was a mistake on the hotel's side because I had filtered for kitchens. They replied that it was Expedia's mistake and not the hotel's problem. It's wrong to pass that on to the customer. When I protested that I had already purchased the ingredients, I was told to go to a seaside restaurant and have them cook for me. This was the first time I had heard of a hotel that responded like this. I gave the ingredients to the staff as a gift. It was a very unpleasant and painful experience. Finally, the shower drains poorly and wastewater accumulates, but this is a minor issue compared to the previous one.

Do not stay here. Badly treated by Owners.

Booked for 4 nights at 70 euros per night - requested a quiet room and were the only guests in the hotel. From about 9pm till 3am you are kept awake by the loudest of music from bars and clubs nearby. Impossible to sleep even with earplugs. Then from 3am you hear all the noise from people and cars leaving the area from the parking lot opposite. Decided to check out after a terrible night which we did but the hotel owners absolutely refused to offer any refund at all for our 3 unused nights so they even made clear euro 210 profit out of our misery. Despite phone calls from Hotels.com they still refused. We moved to the Doubletree by Hilton which was great. Do not stay at this hotel. They should warn guests about the noise but instead they trick you by only allowing non refundable bookings so you’re stuck. The front desk staff admit all guests complain about the noise and they are under instruction to state absolutely no refund. The noise from the clubs is very, very loud and evidently is same every night. We were there on Sunday in November so imagine what it’s like in high season. Deluxe room 15 year old AC / heating doesn’t work. Bathroom is tiny and smelly. Rooms badly need renovations. Despite Google reviews 4 days ago no response from Owners. The noise problem may not be their fault but it certainly isn’t the fault of the paying guests. We never asked for anything other than some refund for our 3 unused nights in an otherwise empty hotel.

Tarihi bir otelde kalmak istemiştim bu nedenle tercih ettim. Otelin her yeri mis gibi beyaz sabun kokuyordu, eski ama restore edilmiş tertemiz bir otel. Tüm çalışanlar güler yüzlü ve çok ilgililer. Otelin konumu geleceğimiz yerlere çok yakındı, bu nedenle hiç araç kullanmadık. Kaldığımız oda Deniz manzaralı, sabah mükemmel bir manzaraya uyandık. Tekrar yolum düşerse ise yine geleceğim.

Güzel bir konaklama geçirdik. Neşeli, güler yüzlü otel sahipleri ve çalışanları misafirlerini rahat ettirmek için ellerinden geleni yapıyorlar. Otelin konumu çok merkezi. Ziyaretçilerin ilgisini çekebilecek her noktaya yürüme mesafesinde. Dolayısı ile Gelibolu yarımadasına geçme haricinde Çanakkale merkezde kalacaklar için ulaşım problemi söz konusu değil. Feribot iskelesi de çok yakın. Gece hayatını sevenler için ise yine lokasyon açısından çok avantajlı. Çanakkale'nin en hareketli noktasında bulunuyor. Sonuç olarak biz memnun kaldık. Tavsiye ederiz.

Ein sehr persönlich geführtes traditionsreiches Hotel, wunderbar im Zentrum der Stadt gelegen. Das Haus atmet Geschichte, ist sehr gut unterhalten mit originaler Einrichtung. Die Gastgeber sind äusserst aufmerksam und liebenswürdig. Wir empfehlen das Hotel gerne weiter.

Çok güzel bir lokasyona sahip. İster 30 saniyede kordonda deniz kenarında yürümeye başlıyorsunuz ister 15 saniye içerisinde çarşının içerisinde dolaşmaya başlıyorsunuz.Ayrıca Çimenlik Kalesi/Deniz Müzesi ve Nusret Mayın Gemisi 1 dk yürüyüş mesafesinde yer alıyor. O kadar güzel konumda yer alıyor ki gün içerisinde aktif dinlenmemizi hep odamızda yaptık.Hamidiye Tabyalarını kesinlikle gitmelisiniz. Yine otelden yürüyüş mesafesinde yer alıyor ve çok güzel bir müzeye sahip.Troy antik kentine gitmek için 15 dk çarşı içerisinden yürüyerek minibüse biniyorsunuz ve direkt sizi antik kentin giriş kapısına kadar götürüyor. İşletmede çalışan herkes çok pozitif ve muazzam ilgililer.Daha kapıdan girer girmez isminizle karşılayıp odaya yönlendiriyorlar.Bu takvimi takip edip ilgili olduklarına dair ilk işaretti. Normal butik otellerin kat hizmetleri eksik olur temizlik düzensizdir fakat burada normal otellerden bile daha kaliteli bir kat hizmeti vardı.Hiç bir gün oda temizlensin demedik fakat her gün ilk giriş yapıyormuşuz gibisine temiz ve tertipliydi oda.Her gün çok güzel temizlik yapıldı. Otelde kaldığımız 5G6Gün boyunca hiç bir olumsuzluk yaşamadık.Çanakkale genel olarak insana huzur veriyor, insanlar pozitif ve yardımsever fakat işletme bunu biraz daha ileri götürmüş durumda. Kahvaltıları iyiydi.Biz otellerde kahvaltıda patates kızartması vb ürünler geldiğinde mutsuz olan çiftiz ve neyseki burada öyle basit sağlıksız seçimlere kaçış hiç olmadı.Kahvaltı doyurucuydu.Çok teşekkür ediyoruz

Just Perfect

My husband and I had an exclusive stay in this exceptional hotel from the warm welcoming hosts meeting us with a cup of delicious Turkish coffee to the impeccable rooms, bathrooms and sitting areas. It is a pity that we did not have more time to stay and enjoy this lovely place. Would like to recommend it to anyone looking forward to enjoy the lovely Canak Kale and the ancient Troy city.

Stylish boutique hotel in city centre. Stayed one night in a room with balcony and sea view. Car park opposite the hotel. Best restaurant in town also opposite the hotel. Exit from back door into old town. Staff very helpful and professional. Excellent breakfast. Throughly recommended

Great location, friendly staff, a little noisy.

I stayed here only one night, while on a solo motorcycle trip through Turkey. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful -- finding me a safe spot to park my motorcycle, helping me print boarding passes, and even moving my room at the last minute (more on that in a second). The hotel itself is historic, quaint and charming, overlooking one of the streets near the waterfront in Canakkale; the architectural style and the wrought-iron balconies overlooking the street give it almost a French Quarter/New Orleans feel. The breakfast was tasty and expansive, with fresh-baked breads and pastries. The only downside -- the balcony rooms overlooking the streets are VERY noisy. I was getting up early the next morning and needed to turn in early (before midnight), but the traffic going by on the street was very loud. I normally sleep with earplugs, but even those weren't enough. However, I asked the staff if I could move to a different room, and they moved me to one on the other side of the hotel, overlooking the smaller street in the back. There are restaurants, cafes and nightclubs on this street, and some of that noise filtered in, but it was not nearly as loud as the noise from the street itself.
