Everything about this hotel is incredible. All the rooms have sea views, there are so many areas to lounge around the pool and the beach - lots to do without leaving the hotel. The staff is absolutely incredible and every detail is thought of at this hotel.

The property views are stunning, the pool water is very well maintained & there is a great morning breakfast but that is where the positives end. The building itself & hotel rooms are very, very old & poorly maintained. Our particular hotel room had a broken shower door upon arrival and they have covered the old tile floor in the room with a fake hardwood that has a large lip at the bathroom. There are bugs all over the room; I think they are living between the old tile & new hardwood. The website versus realities of accommodations are very misleading! The gym is a tiny room with no functioning A/C. The room we booked was referred to as a junior suite but I have no idea how they could refer to it as a suite. The staff is very hit or miss. Some are there to help others do not want to help and are vocal about that. (It’s 6:40pm & the pool closes at 7 so you can’t use it we were told one evening). I think the building should be sold to a brand like four seasons, ritz Carlton, etc. it should close for 2 years to renovate, staff should be properly trained & then it would be a 5 star resort. Right now 3 stars for the hotel is generous.

I stayed at the hotel overnight before heading into Palma to meet friends. Upon check-in, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade, which was a lovely touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The hotel’s location is ideal if you’re looking for a relaxing stay by the sea while still being within easy reach of Palma. Breakfast was a highlight particularly the à la carte options, which were high quality and very enjoyable. The buffet selection was a bit more average in comparison, especially considering the overall standard of the hotel. The swimming pool area was clean and well-maintained, and the surrounding public areas of the hotel were also kept to a high standard. The location is convenient, with Palma about a 15-minute taxi ride away and Puerto Portals around 10 minutes by taxi. Although I didn’t have lunch or dinner at the hotel, the menu looked appealing. Overall, the staff were consistently helpful, and I had a very pleasant stay.

Beautiful hotel!!

Stayed for a long weekend, second time visiting this hotel. It’s such a beautiful hotel, the lagoon and pool areas are amazing. The service is exceptional. The rooms all have stunning views of the sea. The rooms are a little old, with some wear and tear but it didn’t take away from just how wonderful this place is!

This resort was amazing and high class. It does have an older crowd for the most part or at least the time that we went was end of September. We had the breakfast/dinner buffet included in our room, although we did not make it for breakfast. The dinner was great! The staff was really friendly and helpful. I needed some paperwork printed off, and they did that for me immediately and helped me with find a post office. The gym is small but has an amazing view. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in my Mallorca

Hotel de Mar Gran Meliá is a beautiful property in a gorgeous setting, but unfortunately, the level of service we experienced did not live up to the five-star price or expectations. First, the positives: the property itself is very well maintained and exceptionally clean. Compliments to the staff responsible for maintaining the grounds and cleaning the guest rooms—they did an excellent job throughout our six-night stay. The location is beautiful, and the view from our room was every bit as lovely as advertised. I especially enjoyed waking up to the beautiful sunrises each morning. The breakfast buffet was another highlight. It was outstanding, with an impressive selection and so many different breakfast options. Unfortunately, our experience with the restaurant and wait staff was very disappointing, particularly for a hotel of this caliber. On multiple occasions throughout our stay, simple requests such as a glass of wine, a cup of coffee, or even a side of ketchup resulted in surprisingly long delays. At times, we actually felt as though we were making an unusual or difficult request because staff members would confer with one another before eventually bringing the item. We were also disappointed with the concierge service. We did not find the staff particularly well equipped to provide helpful recommendations for activities outside the hotel. Overall, Hotel de Mar Gran Meliá is a beautiful, clean property in a wonderful location, but the quality of service is lacking.

Amazing hotel! Everything is just perfect. The facilities are wonderful, everything is accessible: private beach, pool, spa access.. absolutely perfect. The staff are extremely friendly it’s insane, from room service, lobby, valet, everyone is constantly trying to help.

A wonderful spot on the ocean!

This hotel overall was great - the ocean view for every room is definitely the number one highlight. Also the staff / service was excellent - everyone was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, my friends and I loved starting our day with the delicious breakfast and gorgeous ocean view. The slightest downfall was the hotel in some parts is a little older / worn down, but everything was clean and that’s what matters most. An awesome place with awesome staff!

The rooms and the grounds are great. However, the service was slow. The dinners plates included with the half board were not impressive. Good taste can be improved.
