"Santa Maria Navarrese is a great location and the hotel is very central, on the corner of the main square. Plenty of gelato options and food nearby. The beach is 2 minutes walk and the path takes you past the best of the beach bars. The beach is pebbly, so best to take sea shoes, but the water is really clear and there are plenty of fish if you snorkel out 10-20m or so. The hotel staff are really friendly and the owners always greet you with a smile and a cheery bon giorno. I would not hesitate...

"It's a longish drive from Cagliari (around 250KM) but of course it's worth it to really get away from it all. The hotel is a lovely place up in the hills so you have your choice of the spectacular mountain scenery on one side or a lazy day on the beaches on the other. Watch those twisty mountain roads though! Watch more for the Mountain Goats who, I swear, like to leap out at you just for a dare. Especially when you're coming around on a tight u-bend with a deadly sheer precipice on one side....

Breakfast was good with boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, croissants, and more. "A simple, quiet and relatively affordable place to stay far removed from busy traffic. If you arrive in peak season, be aware that the pool area will cost you extra per day and visit. We stayed in one of the cabins and bed linen and towels were also extra, which was a surprise to us upon arriving. The staff is helpful and friendly.
