This was a gem of a fine for me when my flight was abruptly cancelled due to a security issue at BER. It is a brand new hotel very close to BER. Super affordable and I would highly recommend it. This is coming from a person who travels a lot and stays in 5 star hotels.

At the time of writing (29th June 2026) this hotel is not open! We booked through Expedia and turned up at 10pm to check in. On arrival, there is a notice saying the opening has been delayed with a few phone numbers. We went to a local nearby hotel (The Niu also owned by IHG) who said our booking had been transferred here. We were not given any notice or choice in this. Candlewood suites was advertised with aircon and full apartment facilities like kitchen etc. This hotel had neither. Given the 40 degree heatwave, the lack of aircon was a significant concern. The staff did nothing. Expedia did nothing when we called them. Do not book without calling this hotel first to see if it actually now open!!!

Only one check in staff. Waited for almost 20 mins to check-in. Since there was a long queue of people wanting to check in, the staff (Prince) did not charge city tax upon check in. When checking out, front desk staff was asking for the payment at the last minute and for some reason the POS terminal was having issues. Had to use different credit cards to pay the city tax putting unnecessary stress on me to miss my return flight.

The wait to check in was not good. It was very late in the evening when we arrived and only one guy on reception. There were other guests with problems in their rooms so he wanted to deal with them first. We waited nearly an hour! Didn't give us much time in the studio room so never used any of the facilities.
