"The property was extremely clean and taken care of. The only pleasant employees we came across was a pool bartender guy and front desk guy. Everyone else seemed like they did not enjoy being there and did the bare minimum for working in hospitality to try and help us. Food was ok at best. Casino dealers were lacking a personality which made the gambling experience not that fun. Very strict alcohol policy - no drinking on the casino floor and all alcohol drinks have to be paid for. I think these are New Mexicos laws though so not a knock against Sandia itself there, just something to be aware of if you’re coming to this property from out of state like us. While the property was nice and rooms were spacious and clean, I just don’t think the price justified the level of enjoyment on the trip."

"Nothing personal against the staff, but this place was sub-par even by La Quinta standards. Stayed four nights and no one ever came to empty the trash or replenish our towels. The hotel wasn’t terribly filthy, but there were stains in the shower and on the carpet. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the a/c worked pretty well. The breakfast consisted of bread/bagels that didn’t seem to change from day to day, hard boiled eggs, Fruit Loops, and a waffle maker. Had the waffle maker been out of service the guests would have been out of luck. Our room keys had to be reset at least 15 times because the slightest brush against a phone or credit card will wipe them out. The pool had a half submerged tarp in it, a concrete trash can in front was overflowing with trash, and there were old mattresses, couches, and desk chairs piled up in the parking lot behind the building. The front desk staff was reasonably friendly, and I don’t expect a lot out of La Quinta, but this hotel misses the mark in several areas."

"I was never able to check-in. The female at the front desk collected my driver's license and asked me about checking in, but looked at my reservation and told me that I could not get a room. She told me that I couldn't check in late."

"The phone didn't work, the clock didn't work and the TV streaming didn't work. Went to the customer service desk to let them know, but seems like they were already aware. Told me someone is supposed to fix all those things. The property definitely needs some TLC."
