Loved the room, breakfast and dinner. Staff was very helpful Arrived as the kitchen was closing, but the staff let us dine there. We had taken the train from Oslo, so we were at the end of a long travel day.

The hotel is well located with great views of the fjord from a spacious front deck. Staff were all most helpful and the food consistently excellent. The room had limited shelf or cupboard space to unpack. The Bathroom was grey and had insufficient places to hang anything or put wash bags (for two). Book a bedroom with a view at the front - ours at the back was dark with a small window and side view of the fjord. And third and fourth floors (ground is first floor) accessible only by stairs - and we had to haul cases ourselves. We enjoyed our stay and the hotel was a great base to explore Aurland and the surrounding countryside.

Beautiful quiet and peaceful hotel. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the smoked salmon Benedict. Dinner was good also. The staff were kind and helpful. This place is a hidden gem close to Flåm.

Lovely boutique hotel in a good location close to the Flåm-Aurland shuttle stop. We were a little disappointed with our room which overlooked a neighboring property’s outdoor terrace. The breakfast was enjoyable but make sure you get there well prior to the scheduled end time as things ran out the day we were there.

People were nice and the location was good. The tasting menu at the restaurant was amazing and creative. They never cleaned our room, though we had the sign out, which was a little wierd. There were a lot of stairs and nobody to help with luggage. I would stay here again, though.

We stayed one night and found this a comfortable hotel in a wonderful location. We had spent the day in Flåm, and arriving in Aurland was a welcome relief: a quieter, more settled town with a far more relaxed feel. Check in was straightforward at what is a small hotel sitting just off the road. Dinner was served in the hotel restaurant and was of excellent quality, which matters in a place where options are few. My only real criticism concerns our room, which was right at the top of the hotel. The lift only goes as far as the first floor, so the last stretch is on foot, and the headroom under the roof felt tighter than in other rooms. It did, though, have a superb view over the fjord. On balance we were happy with it, with the caveat that it was sold as a deluxe room and did not quite feel like one. The hotel has limited facilities beyond the restaurant, so do not expect a spa or gym. Even so, I would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality, comfortable stay in a beautiful setting, away from the crowds of Flåm.

We enjoyed our stay at the Aurlandsfjord Hotel. Aurland is a beautiful little village just outside Flam. It's much quieter and less touristy than Flam. We we were worried about transport into Flam but there was a shuttle bus (albeit somewhat expensive) running at regular intervals but to guarantee you get on the bus you need to book seats in advance. The fjord cruise stops at Flam. We did the cruise to Gudvangen and then spent time looking round the very interesting Viking Village before getting a bus back to Flam and then the shuttle bus later in the evening from Flam back to Aurland.
