Customer service was incredible and the room was comfortable. Since our party included two senior citizens with mobility issues, check-in staff gave us a room that was as close to the main entrance/dining area as possible, which was much appreciated. As I was there during my birthday, my mother had taken some balloons etc to decorate the area around our table and it was a lovely surprise when I turned up in the evening to see how it had all been decked up by the dining room staff. We also enjoyed the all-singing, all-dancing Serena birthday surprise I was given during dinner, which made it an unforgettable birthday. The food offered in the buffet was tasty and enjoyable. On our last morning, we realised we had forgotten to order packed lunches so staff in the breakfast room helped us by making improvised packed lunches at short notice - and we would thank them for going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.

Prima verblijf voor 2 nachten in september

We zijn zeer tevreden met ons verblijf in dit hotel voor 2 nachten in september. Personeel is zeer gedreven en vriendelijk. We hebben er zeer goed gegeten, vooral het uitgebreid assortiment groenten en lekker curry’s maken het top! Aan het hotel geen wilde dieren, maar in het park des te meer rond de waterpartijen. De kamers zijn niet echt ruim en hebben voldoende comfort. Wel geen kluisje of frigo. Temperatuur in september is niet te warm, dus ontbreken van airco was geen probleem.

The staff is friendly and nice. I would have gone for all five stars except a couple things - the Expedia reservation did not show up on their system and was a bit of a concern for us after traveling for 4 hours from Nairobi . But the staff handled it well while we had our lunch. No adapters for charging phone etc. in the room. We ended up using one to charge 5 different devices

This property was amazing!!!! Beyond our expectations! The grounds are beautiful!! You feel like you are in the middle of a garden, with monkeys and babboons running around, so lock your doors! Pretty amazing to walk to dinner and see an elephant at a distance that I could easily pass him a soccer ball!! I wish we had had more time there as we only stayed one night!!! The staff was so hospitable. And I cannot even say enough about the food!! All you can eat buffet spreads for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!!

This is not my first or last time staying at this property. It's always a pleasure to return here, friendly staff and great location make it a reliable lodge while visiting beautiful Amboseli.

Fabulous hotel

This is a wonderful place. That’s not just because of the stunning location and accessibility of game drives which are out of this world. It’s because the service is very good, everyone seems to know what they should be doing, and are attentive, without being obsequious.

Pittoresque hotel inside the park

Nice hotel in beautiful settings, good food, friendly staff and clean pool. Wi-fi is functioning well and game could even be seen from the veranda. However the premises is full of cute but naughty monkeys so be sure to close all doors and windows well.

A wonderful safari lodge near Mt. Kilimanjaro

The dry season, September - October, is a wonderful time to visit Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. The animals are congregated around the wetlands, and you won't find any better game viewing anywhere. The hotel is beautifully designed and maintained, and very well managed. We cherish the time we spent just observing the game from the veranda of the lodge.

Comfortable Lodge

The Serena Amboseli is a comfortable lodge, perfect for a family get-away. The food was good and there was a wide spread of Indian, African and Western dishes. The service was good and the staff were very friendly and accommodating with my toddler.

Rip-Off Hotel - beware!

This hotel is geared to pre-packaged holidays rather than booking direct like we did. The hotel make no mention in their details that game-drives are an extra cost, the charges for which are $80 per person for 2 hours which for a family of four like us is very expensive. The lodge also charge to pick up up from the air strip 15 mins away. That's $40 per person each way! So in effect your taxi to and from the hotel is $320 for a family of four... and you have no choice! The hotel itself is OK. It's not nearly as good as Sernena Nairobi or Serena Beach Mombasa (neither of which rip off their guests). The rooms are fairly basic i.e. no TV, no tea and coffee etc. They are clean but mosquitoes are a problem. The restaurant is a cattle market set up in refectory style seating that is very packed at dinner time. One reason for this is that the whole hotel has to complete dinner in 90 mins which is a challenge. So net service is not great even though the staff are generally friendly. Unless you are taking an organised tour that passes through here briefly I would recommend the mara lodges i.e. Explorer or Intrepids which look expensive but when you account for everything are actually cheaper and provide a far more superior service. These are bookable through Exedia and do not charge extras. They also make it clear you have to pay your game fees for being in the park. Again another omission from Serena Lodge. Overall a let down for Serena Group which I strongly recommend avoiding.

Great lodge

Have managed to visit this park just before a business trip. Had time only for 1 night. Great people, friendly and willing to help.Food was good, although lunch and dinner are almost the same.
