I don't understand how it's possible that this hotel is a 5-star hotel. The room is embarrassing to say the least: dated and poorly maintained furniture, power outlets dangerously not adhering to the wall, unstable shower tray, broken shower cabin doors, a single towel, still the gel shower with very uncomfortable bags. Only appearance: a nice lobby and nothing else. 2-3 star hotel at most

Overall, this is one of the better hotels I’ve stayed at. While it was quite busy during my visit—likely due to multiple meetings and events being held—it still managed to maintain good service. The breakfast buffet was definitely a highlight, offering a great variety and quality. However, the bar in the lobby lacked atmosphere; perhaps the location within the hotel doesn’t lend itself to a lively or inviting vibe.
The Elilly Hotel, conveniently located for exploring the sights of Addis Ababa and just a short walk from Meskel Square, has provided a remarkable experience. The staff have been incredibly welcoming; from the reception team to the pool attendant and the restaurant crew on the mezzanine floor, everyone was not just friendly but genuinely eager to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. Their efforts greatly contributed to my happiness throughout my visit. My room was consistently spotless, a testament to their attention to detail. The culinary experiences were exceptional, each meal adding a delightful dimension to my stay. Special accolades to the ladies in the lobby area, who served coffee and managed the gift shop with a warmth and friendliness that brightened each day. I felt completely secure within the hotel and its vicinity, a reassurance for any traveler. Overall, the Elilly Hotel has not only met but exceeded my expectations, significantly enriching my Ethiopian journey.
Only complaint was about the airport transfers. Very disorganised. Exoected them to meet ne on arrival but some intermediary rang them abd tgey eventually came about 90 nins late. Not great at 2 am. Akso booked the return a day in advance but the guy wasn't ready. Even though it is free you would hope for a bit better organization m.
The room rug very dirty, bathroom not clean, window drips is not properly hug (for all this I have video) my daughter bitten by badbug or any other type of insect under her eye and checks where swallow ( I have pictures for that.
