Wonderful time in Aachen, in no small part due to Hotel am Dom. Very friendly and attentive staff. Room was nice and clean. Water pressure made showering pleasant. Quiet and relaxing time. Only problem is that the parking situation is not very clear. I believe the hotel lot is the underground section of the car park, but I parked in the upper floor and had difficulty getting out. If you drive, you might want to get this clarified first. Otherwise, everything was great, and I highly recommend the hotel.

Sehr gute Lage, aber extrem schlechte Fenster

Hotel ist einem gepflegten Zustand, nicht mehr die neuste Einrichtung, aber ist ist nicht "abgewohnt". Was aber überhaupt nicht geht sind die Fenster. Diese lassen so ziemlich alles was auf der sehr befahrenen Straße durch. Sirenen der nahgelegenen Polizeiwache, Idioten, die meinen ihre getunten Autos/Motorräder voll durchzubeschleunigen, Taxifahrer die sich unterhalten und Leute die sich an anschreien. Direkt vor dem Hotel ist auch ein Taxistand, der am WE bis um 3-4 Uhr angefahren wird, ebenso fahren sehr viele Buse, da in der Nähe auch ein Omnibusbahnhof ist. Ich bin normalerweise jmd, den Lärm nicht stört, aber das war selbst mir zu viel des Guten. Die Lage des Hotels ist für einen Stadttrip aber ein Traum,. da man 5 Minuten in die Altstadt und zum Dom läuft.

Mercure Hotel a Good Choice but Lacks Amenities

Centrally located, Mercure Aachen is a good hotel choice for the location and nightly fee but rather bare bones - no restaurant or bar (breakfast is offered), hardly any lobby and no in-room mini-bar to keep drinks cold. While my mattress was bit hard, my room was otherwise well appointed and lit. Nice bathroom.

Disappointing Stay

There was a water leak from the ceiling and we had to lose time for our plans while the worker fixed it. The management refused to give us a new room or compensate us for our inconvenience. In addition, the water kettle leaked and we needed to get a new one, but had to retrieve it ourselves-it was not brought to us. The neighborhood is noisy and the wi does do not keep out the street noise, even on the third floor. We asked the front desk staff to reserve us a taxi in the morning and they would not, claiming that there are “always taxis out front.” When we needed one in the morning to catch our train however there were none, and we had to deal with it ourselves. Overall a very disappointing experience for the money paid.

Das Hotel liegt zentral, aber nicht am Dom. Der Name ist irreführend. Es liegt an einer lauten Straße in einem der schlechteren Viertel Aachens. Die Fenster sind schlecht isoliert, wir haben wegen des Lärms kaum geschlafen. Obere Kleiderregale waren sehr staubig. Insgesamt enttäuschend, nicht zu empfehlen.

Das Zimmer war von der Größe und Einrichtung perfekt, nur etwas unattraktive Fenster. Und leider Umbau bei dem Haupteingang, so dass man den hinteren versteckten Eingang schwer finden konnte. Aber gerne wieder.

Heart of the city- great stay

1 night stay, very comfortable hotel. Parking is a challenge in the city but hotel does have designated spots in a nearby garage. Excellent room and breakfast, everyone was friendly. Very-city center, great for the sites and dining, shopping but very busy area.

The hotel is located in the city center of Aachen which is very practical. Unfortunately this area is also very popular during the evening and the night for homeless people. The whole night I had to cope with homeless people making lots of noises (music and screaming) infront of the hotel and barely could sleep. My dogs stay was charged with additional 15 € per day. The service was excellent but my dog was not allowed to enter the breakfast room. As my dog is too scared to be alone in the hotel room, I could not take the breakfast. A refund of the breakfast was not possible due to their booking system.

The property is very close to the main shopping area of Aachen. It is kept very clean. The gentleman who checked me in and seemed to be the only one on duty every time I walked by was really friendly and helpful.

Will always book it if the price is right

We always stay here because it is in the centre of the city. One disappointment water was cooler for a shower in the evening. Otherwise all good. Crazy price for breakfast as we only need Coffee and cake

Manche Einrichtung mag nicht ultra modern sein, aber alles funktioniert und ist sauber. Top Personal, das sich sehr um die Gäste kümmert und freundlich ist. Wer keine große Hotelbar braucht, ist hier zentral und wunderbar aufgehoben.
