What you can expect

  • Escape the bustle of Zagreb and spend a day exploring the peaceful forests of Medvednica Mountain on a guided hike to Sljeme, the highest peak overlooking the Croatian capital.

    Starting from the Risnjak trailhead, follow one of the mountain's most scenic forest trails through beech and fir forests, gradually ascending towards the summit. Along the way, learn about the natural history of Medvednica, its wildlife, geology, and the local hiking culture from your licensed mountain guide.

    After reaching Sljeme (1,033 m / 3,389 ft), take a well-earned break at one of the mountain huts, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy traditional Croatian mountain food and refreshments (food and drinks are not included and depend on the hut's opening hours).

    After your break, descend back to the starting point along the same scenic trail, taking in the fresh mountain air and tranquil forest surroundings.
