Overview

  • Travel from Placencia for a guided day at Xunantunich, cave tubing and ziplining. Explore the Maya plazas and temples, take the forest approach for a safety briefing and guided float through limestone caves, and cross forest-canopy platforms with the zipline team. Allow about 11 hours. Choose shared touring with other travellers (minimum four adults) or private touring reserved for your booked group (minimum two adults). Hotel pickup, guiding, park fees, lunch and drinks are included. Pickup is not available from Harvest Caye. The experience is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for pregnant travellers or travellers with back problems.

A must-visit even during the shortest stays in Belize, Xunantunich is a national treasure and the second largest ruin in the country. Your arrival will be marked by the little falls of the Mopan River winding alongside the road through the village of San Jose Succotz. Locally crafted souvenirs, hammocks, and blankets are available from the many vendors waiting alongside the River where you board the hand-cranked ferry that has carried thousands to and from the serene beauty of this Maya Temple.
