What you can expect

  • Not only discovering some of the most famous sites in the surrounding of Vang Vieng, any novice joining in this discovery tour of Vang Vieng will be taken to the thrill of cave explorations.

    You will depart from your Hotels in Vang Vieng city centre. After travelling around 14 km to the north of Vang Vieng, you will visit the first cave of Tham Xang (Elephant Cave) situated on the opposite banks of the Nam Song. It is an important Buddhist temple and owes its name to a noticeable limestone formation.

    The nearby Tham Hoi cave (Snail cave) gyrates its way deep into the mountain. You will explore through numerous long corridors with magnificent limestone formations for around 45 minutes. Lying at the mouth of Tham Nam (Water cave) is another cool pool of spring water, an ideal place for a swim.
    Lying at the mouth of the Tham Nam cave is a cool pool of spring water, which is an ideal place to cool off by going for a swim! You will tube through the cave which is full of water. Especially, the water is completely crystal clear in the dry season!

    After that, you will trek 2km to the Hmong village of Phathao to take a journey passing through green rice paddy fields and fertilise vegetable gardens. You’re your arrival there is transport to take you back to Vang Vieng.
